About this audiobook
A lady never reveals the true extent of her decay...
Hannah Miles lives a quiet existence, helping her parents conduct research into a most terrible affliction - until a gruesome murder during her best friend's engagement party pulls her from the shadows. With her specialist's knowledge and demure disposition, Hannah is requested to aid the investigation.
Except Hannah discovers her role is to apologise in the wake of the rude and disgraced man tasked with finding the murderer. The obnoxious Viscount Wycliff thinks to employ Hannah purely as a front to satisfy Whitehall, but she'll have none of that.
The two must work together to find the murderer before the season is ruined. But the viscount is about to meet his greatest challenge, and it's not a member of the ton with a hankering for brains.
A gentle paranormal Regency mystery, combining a fantasy of manners with gaslamp. Perfect for fans of CJ Archer or Charlie N Holmberg.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5It has a fascinating premise - Regency England with magic and with a twist - a large number of society ladies have been turned into zombies through a magic face powder poisoned by Napoleon’s agents. They’re referred to as the afflicted. I loved Hannah, the heroine and Wycliffe the hero although I thought the author referred to his black looks a little too often. They have to solve the murder of a footman at a society ball. Was it one of the Afflicted?

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5When they said it was a fantasy meet crime meet the reincarnations of lizzy and Mr Darcy they weren’t wrong…. Boy did I binge the audio, loved the little banters and the duel pov….
The story is fast and it’s nice to figure out…. Perfect for those days that you want to get lost in a book for a while. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What if pride and prejudice meets monsters and those who knew to be as darcy and Lizzy, were one detective who investigates these affected with brooding attitude in the need of money to save his tittle And the Frankenstein assistant to help her father find why these afflicted, as you follow them to find who the culprit is.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I very much enjoyed the combination of kane austen meets monster hunter meets whodunit. A fun fast paced book that makes you want to read more.
