About this audiobook

The wrong man never felt so right....

Ex-fighter Reed Miller has been secretly lusting over his best friend's girl for months, but he refuses to jeopardize a friendship over a woman—especially one who doesn't like him all that much. Now that Darcy's on the market again, it's even more imperative to stick to his strict hands-off policy. But the sizzling attraction between them is too powerful to ignore, and once he's had a taste of her...all bets are off.

Darcy Grant is tired of walking the straight and narrow path. She's on the hunt for passion, and there's no denying Reed is just the man to give it to her. Although she has no interest in dating a bad boy, and certainly not her ex's best friend, it's impossible not to melt beneath Reed's skillful touch. Now it's just a matter of setting a few ground rules—and hoping her rule-breaking, sweet-talking bad boy agrees to follow them. But if she lets Reed into her bed, does she stand a chance of keeping him out of her heart?

I really did like this book a lot. The narrator does pretty good job doing male and female voices, but he really doesn’t do a good Boston accent, so if you can get over that, this book is awesome!

This was a pretty good story and the fact that the Ex doesn't go insane was a huge plus. Fun and lots of adult time kept the story flowing.

A perfect book to listen to when on a long, boring train journey. The tomato line had me screaming in laughter. I don't want to spoil it for others so I'll say no more. Joe Arden is on my top 5 list of favourite narrator's.
I'd love one night of scandal with him fo' shore!

I chose the audiobook on Scribd for a bit of titillation and was pleasantly surprised with it’s memorable characters, strong, original story and interesting dialogue.

The only reason it isn’t 5 stars for me is because it ends with a cliffhanger and I had to find the second book asap to finish the story.

hmmmm I am still deciding how I feel about this book. In one hand I am saying you go not go for your best friends ex. Especially if he is as nice as AJ was. There is code amongs friends and that is you never go for an ex, it isn't done and even though these two (Darcy and Reed) claimed that no they were not going there, they really didn't fight it much. However on the other hand when Reed went to AJ, he gave his blessing, showing again what a good guy he was and knew that Reed always had a thing for Darcy. Anywho I guess it was up to them, not something I would have done, but Reed needed to get over the boo hoo is me and grow the hell up, and his little game with flirting with someone so that he wont be hurt, yeah shows your maturity buddy, so not crazy about him. Hope AJ gets a much better woman.Rcvd and ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions

Reed Miller has always obeyed the golden rule of friendship - never poach another guy's gal. Despite his unabated lust for Darcy Grant, Reed has always kept his distance. But now that Darcy and his best friend, A.J., have called it quits, Reed is finding it virtually impossible to keep his hands to himself. To make matters worse, Darcy is determined to have her way with him even though she has no interest in a relationship with a sweet-talking bad boy like Reed. Can these two reconcile their differences and find their happily ever after?

If it is done well, the forbidden romance trope can be an excellent way to ratchet up the tension and chemistry in a relationship. Luckily, Kennedy accomplishes this with little effort as Darcy and Reed heat up every available surface while fighting their pseudo-illicit attraction (as they aren't actually cheating on A. J., which would be a deal breaker).

In fact, this aspect of the story plays out rather quickly and easily with relatively little angst, and the second half of the plot focuses on an entirely different issue, i.e., Darcy's bias against the type of man she believes Reed exemplifies - the player. Obviously, Darcy's attitude is problematic and it puts a minor damper on the romance as Reed is not only sexy and hot, but a truly sensitive person and a caring friend.

The silly misunderstanding is, thankfully, very short lived and the resolution is sweet.

All in all, a good read although the first book in the series is much better. A. J.'s story is next and I look forward to him finding his true love.
