About this audiobook

Natasha Sokolov is a survivor, but this new cage she finds herself in could be the end of her colorful career as a jaguar shifting assassin. After she starts tailing a state Supreme Court justice, she finds herself locked up on bogus charges, and with the new moon approaching, her choices are grim. End her life now, or expose shifters as a reality to the entire world.

Dex Stewart is a sought after contractor in Sedona with a reputation for his craftsmanship, but it’s his demolitions abilities that his Alpha is depending on now. When the pack gets word that a shifter is being held in the Arizona lock up, Dex discovers the prisoner he’s risking everything to free, is also an enemy of the pack.

Helping her escape is only the beginning of his problems. The moment Dex touches her his loyalties are torn. This suspect is also his mate, but love might come at too high a price for him to bear...

Spoiler alert: so I know this entire series is fantasy but what was the author thinking using explosives as how to break Natasha out of jail & killing off the main characters twin. In the pack there are shifters with mind control, telekinesis & serious hacking skills but the best the author can come up with is to blow a hole in the side of a building (which the alpha agrees to, WTH?) then have that building fall on top of Deacon (the twin) which kills him. Using that death as the catalyst for Dex & Natasha to find out they are mates. Then to make matters worse…write its all fixed by dropping the charges (faking electronic records) as if the arrest & escape never happened? I could have believed that Jett or Serenity used their mental powers to facilitate the escape. I could have even believed that Vance used his hacking skills to create a fake release. I could have for sure believed that Deacon died in a shoot out. What I cannot believe is an entire police station & deputies on duty will think a giant hole in the side of a building was a structural failure & the escape was a figment of their imagination. Come on Ms. Kessler, you can do better than this.

I'm loving this series. This one was sad but then it all worked out

I struggled to like Natasha. Usually I like a good redemption story or when you begin to understand what influenced their choices. But she came across as selfish and then suddenly saying I love you.. it just didn't seem like it jived.

This one was SO satisfying. Nothing left unsettled or unsaid and the bond between Dex and Natasha was spot on.
