About this audiobook

Summer and Joy haven’t spoken in years, but now as they are set with the task of dealing with their late parents’ estate, the two sisters must face each other again. The final task? Clearing out the family vacation cabin on Central Florida’s Palmetto Lake.

Years before, their uncle went missing in mysterious circumstances at that cabin, as have many other locals before him. There’s old local lore that the lake comes to claim the wicked.

My normal is to rate but not review. Not this time! It simply had to be said...This book was a mosey down the lane that took a hairpin curve that went curvy as a broke back snake then straightened out right into a wormhole! Whew!!! That said, it was a bit slow at first but once it gained momentum i had to know the outcome. The ending was a jolt that left me saying "what the heck???" before it grossed me out with the last few sentences. I'd say its worth the listen.

Not bad for a short, it was intriguing thru out the story. The narrator did a good job. There were some really good horror shots. All and all worth it.

I loved how totally bonkers this was, but be prepared, this is the same story repeated twice, not a full length book. But it’s awesome.

I rarely start a book that I don't finish but this one was just ridiculous!! I started it because I didn't realize it was a "paranormal thriller". Even if it hadn't been it was slow and boring. Just could not force myself to finish it

A normal day in central Florida. Had to listen on ×2. Makes it WAY more funny.

I usually enjoy Wendy's stories but I couldn't stand the h or how quickly she would be able to 'catch up' with an old boyfriend after a few minutes. Like everyone else, I like a twist but this ending just...

How boring. This is not the way you write a horror/thriller. Too much detail where unneeded, not enough detail where desired. Never gave me a chill. Not scary, but kind of gross. The incest didn't surprise me, disgusting nonetheless. The ending was also absolute ass. I could've written this story better with my eyes closed, and been more creative while I was at it. Disappointing. Let's hope Lifetime doesn't pick this one up for a 3.6/10 rated movie. ??

This narrator is unlistenable. She is one of the worst I've ever heard.

A solid horror novella. The audiobook is only 4 hours long but the Scribd version is 8 hours with the story starting again after it ends.

First of all, the story is only four hours, it repeats after that. Second, I was really enjoying the creepy setting and the mystery of the family secret. Until it actually got to the secret! Then I just enjoyed the completely bananas series of events that come after. Not really the thriller I was expecting but still had a fun time with it

The audio book says 37 chapters but there's only 19.

Most of the book was ok. But it got crazier and crazier towards the end and the ending was just awful. Maybe for a short story. It was completely out there. Surreal and against everything you knew about the character. I thought it was dream or hallucination until the book just ended. I felt betrayed. Enough that I wish I hadn’t wasted time listening to it. But I did like most of the book so.. maybe the ending won’t bother you as much. It IS a twist. I guess.
Also the story was in this audiobook twice. Another reason I didn’t realize I was at the end. It ended. Then started up again. Better fix that Scribd.

It's fine. It was entertaining, but don't expect things to wrap up in any kind of satisfying way. The audiobook also repeats, so halfway through the novel ends and starts again at chapter 1, which was disappointing.

First off I just have ti say the narrator did a very confusing job here. She sounded like an AI until the characters spoke and then her acting would sound realistic and even dare to say ok. I had to listen to it at 2.8 speed I could definitely see this the kind of novel adapted into a big budget horror flick with an A star actor. The kind of flick you think should be good considering the cast and the creepy well put together trailer until you leave the theatre with nothing but confusion and disappointment where you consider making a fuss about getting your measly $7.00 back just because it was such a let down. We’ve all been to one of those movies. An easy pay day horror story with a suspenseful buildup and creepy heart pounding moments until the storyline shifts into “WTF was that” mode and you’re left with a terrible third act, plot holes galore unanswered questions and an ending that was packaged for commercial benefit slapped across a plastic lunchbox and sold. Only this wasn’t wrapped in a fancy bow. It was an appealing disaster that was had the potential to be something… another book I will not be listening again nor would I suggest others to listen to/read.

    I enjoyed this book
Great cozy mysteries. The characters were believable, and you can see friends. You could feel the fear. Call me later.
