About this audiobook

A man's pilgrimage becomes something from his darkest nightmares when secrets arise and ghosts haunt his path.

A woman has vanished on the Camino de Santiago, the ancient five-hundred-mile pilgrimage that crosses northern Spain. Daniel, an Irish expat, walks the lonely trail carrying his wife, Petra’s, ashes, along with the damning secret of how she really died.

When he teams up to walk with vibrant California girl Ginny, she seems like the perfect antidote for his grieving heart. But a nightmare figure begins to stalk them, and Daniel's mind starts to unravel from the horror of things he cannot explain.

Unexpected twists and turns echo the path of the ancient trail they walk upon. The lines begin to blur between reality and madness, between truth and the lies we tell ourselves.

Editor's Note

Creepy journey…

Take a creepy 500-mile journey down the Camino de Santiago with Daniel, who’s mourning the loss of his wife and might just be losing his sanity on the long walk. The horror stalks along quietly in this offbeat portrayal of loss and grief.

Petra's Ghost is a wonderful story of heartbreak, loss, grief, and second chances.

The author beautifully portrays such a moving and an emotional masterpiece that pulls at the heart strings and brings laughter and tears at the same time.

The characters are so personable, emotionally raw, and vulnerable as well as powerful at the same time.

The narration was so emotional, eloquent, and brought each character and their stories to life magically.

A psychological journey that is maybe a bit too drawn out for my liking but great decoration of landscape and although the ending has some unexpected twists it still doesn’t quite leave the brain and belly fully satiated.

The suspense was good. The imagery was haunting but not overkill

Well-written and read, but boring. This was not the frightening horror that was promised in the description.

Great narration and imagery, however the story is so slow paced, much like the trek that the main character is on. The actual horror elements are few and far between until chapter 10, it gets better and more interesting by then. Overall eerie but not terrifying - more like a wholesome scary ghost story.

It was interesting enough to hold my attention but it dragged a bit in spots. I feel it was definitely a good story and worth the time. I will say the writing was well done and the narration was very good. A Ghost story of a different kind.

Excellent book. I’m glad I took a chance on it. The characters are well developed, the plot tight, and you really felt like you were on the road to Santiago.
