About this audiobook

A week before Lenore Warwick's twenty-first birthday, she's kidnapped by the brooding and dangerous stranger with cold eyes and a lethal touch, who has been stalking her on San Francisco's fog-shrouded streets. Absolon "Solon" Stavig isn't your average criminal though. He's a centuries-old vampire who's caught between wanting to kill Lenore and wanting to save her.

You see Lenore, too, is a vampire. She just doesn't know it yet.

Taken by a pair of vampire slayers when she was just an infant, Lenore was raised never knowing her true nature. All Lenore knows is that she has (normal) parents who love her, that she's exceptionally smart, and she's squeamish around blood. But once she turns twenty-one, she'll fully turn into a vampire, and Solon hopes he'll be there to guide her, opening her eyes to her deepest hunger . . . both sexual and otherwise.

But this turning can't be kept a secret. Soon both slayers and vampires are hunting Lenore, with only Solon and his unpredictable motley crew of vampires to save her.

Contains mature themes.

Honestly, this feels like a fanfic from wattpad. Oddly specific at times (like will give you the name of the street corner a character is walking on) but won’t provide info on characters…? Also, presents a bunch of characters with info that would make you think they’ll be somewhat relevant. But no, we never see them again.

Really hard to like the main character. Has very interesting priorities. Im all about grey characters, but I’d say this level of selfishness is wholly wrong.

This was so much fun! Very light, there was a lot of popular culture references like Dracula and Buffy but I love popular culture references and I love a vampire story that feels familiar and gives the same kind of vibe as Buffy, a little bit of the originals TV show so if you like those this might be something for you.

    Very hot, steamy, and fun.

One thing… The audiobook narration was not the best… It wasn’t bad… But something about the level of/tone of voice was off… and inflections… it was like the narrator was whispering….?

I feel like people who liked A touch of Darkness will like this because it's pretty much the same.

minimum story and smut all at the end.

Felt like the end was meh.

Wasn't bad just not the perfect blend of what I like.

You may be looking for a dramatic dark vampire romance to get into. Keep looking.

The heroine is a college student and that immaturity sticks around the entire book, but the hero isn't any better. The breaking point for a lot of readers is that when she begs him to have sex with her when she's going through her out-of-her-mind horny vampire transformation, he gives her to his friend instead and the author goes on to describe their sex. That did ruin the book for me, even though I've enjoyed poly romances before, but this wasn't that. The whole plotline where she forgives her adopted parents for murdering her real parents, attempting to burn her to death, and then kidnapping her when that didn't work, also ruined the book for me, so there's a lot to choose from. You can also go with the insta-lust or how the hero and the heroine never really seem to have any reason for even liking each other before they decide they're in love. Lots of options, but the best option is picking up a different book.
