About this audiobook

We were never meant to meet; our paths shouldn't have crossed. And yet they did.

As an undercover DEA agent, I always thought things through. I didn't take chances, because I knew one misstep could have disastrous consequences.

Until I met her. The little sister of my next target.

Lola was a feisty young woman trying to claw her way out of a bad neighborhood. She was forbidden in every sense of the word, and not just because of the sixteen-year age gap.

We were taught to expect the unexpected, but nothing could have prepared me for what was about to happen.

I fell hard. I fell fast. I freefalled heart first. But there was a secret I was keeping, and if revealed, it'd destroy the lives of those I'd vowed to protect.

One wrong move and everything could erupt in our faces. All that remained was one question . . . Was she worth it?

Free Fall is definitely a roller coaster ride of a conclusion to the Quantico Files by Nancy Mehl. I continue to be drawn to Nancy Mehl books because she always writes a solid suspense story that draws you in from the beginning, intrigues you enough to keep turning the pages, and then surprises you at the end. This story was no exception. I also appreciate the strong faith thread that she weaves into her stories. I guess my only complaint would be that Alex was a character I struggled to like throughout the series and this book really did not change my opinion of her. She definitely is very good at her job, but was just not very likable in my opinion. This book could be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the whole series from the beginning. Reading the other books will help you understand some of the characters better in this story plus the romance thread between Alex and Logan builds throughout all three books.

Title: Free Fall (The Quantico Files #3)Author: Nancy MehlPages: 352Year: 2022Publisher: Bethany House PublishersMy rating is 4 out of 5 stars.Alex Donovan and Logan Hart work for the FBI in the Behavior Analysis Unit (BAU). Their latest case is one that involves profiling a kidnapper. They don’t have much to go on and kidnappers aren’t their usual UNSUBs. Soon after the investigation is underway, they discover there are more victims from surrounding counties. Some cases are six years old. Are these women still alive? Alex and Logan workup a profile after much questioning and research. They are surprised to learn that all of the victims are young women, with dark colored eyes and long, dark hair just like Alex. The kidnapper breaks his M.O. and contacts authorities. He wants to meet Alex and promises to reveal the location of the other women. Alex is adamant that she go to the meeting to save these women, but Logan can’t bear the thought of Alex being harmed or kidnapped herself. On a personal level, Logan receives a medical diagnosis that could change his life. He has fallen in love with Alex but isn’t sure she loves him, so he delays telling her his feelings. Now that she could potentially be out of his life forever if the kidnapper takes her, he promises to tell her once she returns from the meeting. Alex is still dealing with PTSD from their last case where she was almost killed. Logan rescued her, but she tries to handle her mental and psychological issues herself. With Logan’s diagnosis, she tells herself she has to tell him how she feels, but will she be able to do so?It was difficult for me to get involved with this story. The plot was slower than her previous novels, and I didn’t connect with the main characters. The story is still worth reading. I liked how faith was evident in several places in the story. Alex and Logan had to contend with struggles that happened in their lives, to release control to the One with control of their lives and be at peace. I liked how the FBI Unit was like a family. I would recommend reading this author’s Kaely Quinn series, which is excellent. I’m looking forward to her new FBI series!Note: The opinions shared in this review are solely my responsibility.

The Quantico Files has been an exciting series and Free Fall is certainly a thrilling addition! I'm always amazed by author Nancy Mehl's ability to create such evil villains and the Ghost Rider may be one of the worst yet. Alex Donovan's commitment to stopping his madness and Logan Hart's efforts to protect her make this an intense tale filled with twists, turns, and non-stop danger. As they continue to encounter immense obstacles, there are many times when hope seems lost, but Alex and Logan possess great faith. They are true examples of believing in, and trusting in, the power of God!This is the third book with Alex and Logan, and we get to see their professional and personal relationship progress to a much deeper level. Yes, there is some romance but Free Fall is primarily a psychological thriller that is laced with a compelling faith message. I recommend it to all who enjoy Christian suspense novels.I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher. There was no obligation for a favorable review. These are my own thoughts.

Free Fall by Nancy Mehl is the third book in her Quantico Files series. FBI behavioral analyst Alex Donovan and Logan Hart must write a profile for a missing woman. While working on the case they find that there are more women missing across the state and they all look alike! This story was a roller-coaster ride. There were so many ups and downs. Alex is one tough lady. She has so much to overcome yet she never quits. We could all learn from her.I received this book from the publisher for my honest review.

The author, Nancy Mehl, has woven an intense story that had this reader experiencing a feeling of fear and foreboding. To imagine the feeling of women kidnapped and imprisoned knowing nothing about their captors nor location. Their fear. Their anxiety. Their dread of impending doom. As police and FBI work together to analyze the criminals, all their skills as Behavioral Analysts are tested and retested. The two main analysts are Logan and Alex who are the main characters in the story. They also have a history from the previous Quantico Files #2 book, Dead Fall, and a developing romantic interest. The faith of the book's characters, Scriptural references and quotes, and prayer by characters bring a depth of realism that touches deeply the heart of Christian readers. Free Fall is an exciting, though scary, read and does well as a stand-alone story but is even more enjoyable if the reader has read the previous books Night Fall and Dead Fall. I received a complimentary copy to facilitate a review. Opinions are mine, alone & freely given.

This book is a chilling, dangerous, intriguing and suspenseful read. I loved how the author delivers characters that are smart, caring and determined. This story does have an eerie quality to it which made me want to sit on the edge of my chair while reading. It did make me think of how sad it can be to be bullied and have to endure the torture over and over in your mind. In this story we are taken back to fifteen years ago where a young boy wanted so desperately to be accepted. He lived with carnies and really didn’t have a family. I think the people he was around felt sorry for him and just let him stay because he had no family. When he is humiliated something triggers in his mind. I loved how Alex and Logan worked together to try to solve the case. They were methodical and worked long hours. There is definitely an attraction between them but the author didn’t focus on that much which I liked. The case is difficult and Alex puts herself in danger as she decides to lure the UNSUB out of hiding. Her determination was good and I loved how the author included scriptures and prayer throughout the story. Logan is sidelined when a medical emergency forces him to have emergency surgery. I admired how he trusted God and never doubted that he would be okay. Even though he was at a hospital he never was really off the job. The team kept him up to date as he went through a difficult time due to his health. This is part three in the series and even though it can be read out of order I highly recommend reading them all to understand the characters and their relationship to each other. It also shows how the team uses different techniques to solve crimes. The story details that women are being kidnapped and all have something in common. The author slowly peels the evidence apart layer by layer until it reaches a heart pounding ending. If you are looking for a story filled with suspense, faith and action this is a must read. I received a copy of this book from Librarything Early Reader Program and the author. The review is my own opinion.

I did not want to put this book down. This is the third book in this series and my favorite of the three. This has action, romance and psychological suspense. Alex and Logan keep getting closer even though they do not know it. I love this about the story. This gets scary at times but there is always inspiration woven in to keep them going. This story is fantastic. I received a copy of this book from Bethany House for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.

Free Fall is the third book in The Quantico Files series by Nancy Mehl. This is a great Christian Suspense story that is filled with action, suspense, mystery and romance. This story contains the same characters and references situations in previous books, so it is good to read them in order. The story grabbed me right from the start and it was hard to put the book down. This was my favorite book in the series. It contains humor to lighten the serious situations that take place. I appreciate the faith and trust in God that the team members have and how easy it is for them to share with others. The theme that stand out for me is that we are not guaranteed tomorrow. I liked how Alex was able to continue working the case after she was abducted and how the other women were so easy to get the information she needed. I struggled with Logan not wanting to bother his family with his current situation.I received a complimentary copy of this book through the Dead Fall Launch Team, this is my honest review.

Wow! Do not expect to put this one down before you reach the end. I am quite sure if I hear the song “Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do….’ I will remember this story. Just imagine how something that seems so small could possibly affect the rest of your life. You’ll have to read on to find out more.FBI agents Logan and Alex are given the task of creating a profile of the perpetrator who has kidnapped a local single mom. What they learn will make the hairs on your back stand up! Will anyone be able to survive this madman? This ARC of The Quantico Files #3 was received through Bethany House Publishers and Baker Publishing Group. These thoughts and impressions are my own and were in no way solicited.
