About this audiobook

Zane Bennington, he was the guy who'd been making my life miserable for weeks. He was a prick. A jerk. A stone-cold ruthless bastard with no redeeming qualities whatsoever-well, except for his face. And his body. And yeah, maybe his massive fortune.

But other than that, the guy had zero going for him. The only upside? He hated me as much as I hated him. Or so I thought . . .

Contains mature themes.

I don't know why I didn't like the writing. It's not one big issue. There are many things that wouldn't be such problem overall, if they occurred separately. However, I'm not sure what irks me so much about it.

Maybe it was that a lot of the conversations between the different characters were styled in questions over questions, which got on my nerve quickly.
Maybe it was the dragging descriptions of unimportant stuff or that most of the females bitched towards Jane, the lead. Come on, you don't have to rub it in my face constantly that Jane is kind hearted and good in comparison to those females. It's like most of them were awful. Why so misogynistic? As if every female, who isn't a relative or a friend has to be a bitch. Why?
Also, it would have been easier to like the flow of the story, if it wasn't told mostly by Jane, instead of shown through action. "Show don't tell" is something that wasn't carried out well here. Which is a pity, because the permise of the story promised a funny and easy ride.

Throughout the story I waited to witness the sparks between the OTP, but there were none. Till the end I do not know why she should even like him and why he loved her. No chemistry. And that's a big NoNo in a romance book, where almost anything can be forgiven, if you can feel the magical attraction.

Bottom line I can't recommend the audiobook. Maybe the mentioned drawbacks aren't so bad, if you actually read the book instead of listening to it. But that a big maybe.

The narrator of the audiobook did an awesome job, though.
