I enjoyed this story about a Montana cowboy with plenty of action and the hero's daughter was so cute but midway I felt the heroine needed more backbone when the hero dragged his feet. Dylan returns to his hometown with his toddler and connects with his old lover librarian Kristy.

This was a fun read for me.
A little mystery, sexy cowboy, romance, and a lot of laughs.

I only gave it four stars because I did find Kristy a little pushy. dont get me wrong I love her. It may be the way a ranch girl is raised. I didnt like how from the very beginning she felt possessive over Bonnie. It may be she was just comfortable. like I said It didnt change my opinion of her. it was just she would tell dylan to give bonnie to her (to let her hold) she never asked to hold her and I know as a mom I wouldnt like that. but that wasnt a deal breaker.

I loved seeing logan and Briana
and I love that dylan and logan are working things out between them!

Dylan Creed has come back to Stillwater Springs with his two year old daughter to settle down in his home town and file for full custody of his daughter, Bonnie. He runs into his first love Kristy Madison at the library. She is shocked to see him. She's always anticipatted the day he came back but never thought she'd see the day he'd come home to settle down. As they start to talk more and get closer again, Kristy is hit with the new that the sheriff, Floyd Book thinks her father killed a man long ago and burried him where her horse is buried. When he digs up the horse's grave to see if there's a human body in the grave he finds two bodies. One being a girl who had disappeared a couple years ago while she was on vacation with her family. When news of it gets out reporters come to Stillwater Springs and follow her around constantly asking questions that she doesn't want to answer. The only person she can turn to for comfort is Dylan Creed.

As a book on it's own merit it was a solid story with lovable characters. When compared to the first Montana Creed book, I was disappointed. I thought the plot to be predictable and flat, where the first book was more action packed and edge of your seat good. I didn't really care about the mystery of the stalker or the murderer in this book I just wanted Dylan and Kristy to finally admit their undying love for one another. Some great things that Miller does with this series is introduces you to characters for the next book in a quiet and unobtrusive way. She also doesn't spend large amounts of space repeating the story from the previous book. It isn't necessary to enjoy this book and I am glad of that, to be honest I get annoyed when the second book in a series retells the entire first book over again.

Linda Leal Miller has provided everything you could ask for in this romance. Suspense and a edge of you chair love story. I haven't read anything that has captivated me this much in a long while.
