This is the last in the Dark Prince series but it was the capper on a great little series. I love all the characters from the Night Huntress, Night Prince and the next spin-off trilogy Night Rebel.

You absolutly cannot go wrong with Jeaniene Frost when it comes to Paranormal Romance. There isn't a book in the Night Huntress World that I haven't read or didn't like. Such an easy fun time. This is a go-to author for when you are in a book slump and just need to read something you KNOW you will love.

This was an excellent book! After finishing the third book in the Night Prince series, I was really eager to see how things would wrap up in this final installment. Vlad has been a favorite character of mine ever since he made an appearance in the Night Huntress series and I have been having a great time seeing him in the lead role. I had a great time with this book.Leila finds that she is still in danger because of a powerful spell that links her to a necromancer. Vlad is fearful of losing her and asks for help from his friends. I had a great time seeing everyone working together in this book. I especially had a good time seeing Ian play a pivotal role in this story. This installment had all of the action and excitement that I hoped to see. I also really enjoyed seeing just how much Vlad and Leila care for each other at this point in their relationship. Tavia Gilbert did a fantastic job with the narration. This book has a fairly large cast of characters and I love that each character has a very distinctive voice. She added a lot of emotion and excitement into her narration. I really enjoyed her performance and think that it added to my overall enjoyment of the book.I would highly recommend this series to others. This is a series that really does need to be read in order since each book builds on the previous installments. I had such a great time with this group of characters and cannot wait to read more books set in this world.

I want to start off by informing you that I am totally a Jeaniene Frost fangirl. I really do enjoy her books a lot and I can't put my finger on the exact reason why I just overall love her writing and her characters. The narrator for this audiobook did an amazing job. She was able to put the feelings into her voice so good that it blew me away. It has been a while since I have listened to an audiobook too so maybe I didn't pay attention to those things before. I don't know. This is the finale to the Night Prince series in the Night Huntress World. These books featured Vlad and Leila and their romance. Over the four total books, you get to see Leila transform into a strong badass woman. I suspect Leila and Cat (The OG Jeaniene Frost badass chick) will be best friends in no time. Vlad has also changed a little but really he is always angry and ready to kill anyone in an instant. This definitely doesn't change in this book as they search for a way to remove the spell that is linking Leila's life to Vlad's nephew. Mircea has also been trying to kill Leila and is Vlad's enemy. With Vlad's tendency to kill first ask later, this has forced Vlad to have a little patience. This really does finish off the series good. I feel like it is a good ending and a good HEA. You see just how far Vlad is willing to go to save his wife. It also completely sets you up for Ian's book coming this fall. So I would read this for sure just so that you can see the events that lead into Ian's book properly. Will I be getting Ian's book? Yes, I already pre-ordered it because I have wanted Ian to have his own book forever. Fangirl...

As a huge fan of Vlad and Leila, the announcement of the 4th and final installment in their story came as a welcome surprise. Unfortunately, the book itself does not live up to expectations.

The chemistry that sizzles between Vlad and Leila in the first three books is almost completely doused, and their loves scenes are less intimate and more "going through the motions" than anything else.

The plot revolving around a group of necromancers using the connection between Mircea and Leila to blackmail Vlad has potential, but the execution is tediously slow and about as exciting as watching paint dry.

Another disappointment is Ian's portrayal. Gone is the morally ambiguous bad-boy vampire, and in his place is a moronic idiot with lines out of a sleezy porn movie. That said, the events toward the end of the book involving Ian are intriguing enough for me to give his book a try when it comes out. Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment.

In sum, Night Prince would have been better off remaining a trilogy.

Leila is linked by a powerful spell to Mircea - one of Vlad's many enemies. Any attacks on him are duplicated on her. And he is in the hands of necromancers who are hurting Leila through him to force Vlad to do their bidding. Leila and Vlad need to find Mircea because before the necromancer kill him and take Leila with him. Mencheres convinces Ian to help Leila and Vlad but Ian is not at all trustworthy and knows a lot more about he necromancers and demons than he is saying. Their first plan is to find a way to break the spell that binds Mercia and Leila and even consult a demon for advice. But demons are even less trustworthy than Ian. Their next plan has Leila and her sister digging into their ancestry and learning some things that help explain Leila's unusual powers. This story is filled with action and lots of hard decisions for both Vlad and Leila. It seems to Leila that all the options she is given are bad and she will have to decide which ones she can live with. I loved the love that exists between Vlad and Leila and the lengths they will go to nourish nd preserve it. This was a nice conclusion to Vlad and Leila's story.
