About this audiobook
Rachel Gibson has already won two Romance Writers of America’s RITA® Awards—the most prestigious honor the romance community bestows—for her “edgy, sexy, fast-paced romance” (Jayne Ann Krentz), and Rescue Me is yet another high point in her acclaimed career. The New York Times bestselling author of the popular Seattle Chinooks stories, Gibson kicks off a timely and wonderful new contemporary series about the romantic entanglements of military men back from active duty. Rescue Me is the story of the reluctant Texas homecoming of a former small-town beauty pageant participant and the sexy ex-Navy SEAL who’s on hand to complicate her life. It’s salvation from the bland and ordinary and Rachel Gibson at her best—a perfect escape for dedicated readers of Jennifer Crusie, Nora Roberts, and Susan Elizabeth Phillips.
Author
Rachel Gibson
Rachel Gibson began her fiction career at age sixteen, when she ran her car into the side of a hill, retrieved the bumper, and drove to a parking lot, where she strategically scattered the car’s broken glass all about. She told her parents she’d been the victim of a hit-and-run and they believed her. She’s been making up stories ever since, although she gets paid better for them nowadays.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I give the story a 4.5. I had read it before and liked it BUT the narration was subpar in my opinion a 1.5 or 2. Altho parts of the narration were ok much of sounded like someone reading dirctly out of a book that was unfamiliar. Unfortunately it seemed to happen every time something important was going on. I will avid this narrator in the future.

- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5This didn't have the usual Rachel Gibson spark for me. Vince was actually kind of dull and Sadie never really struck a cord with me either. Sadie and Vince didn't spend nearly enough time together to develop the emotion and spark I like to read between two characters. Missed the witty banter that is usually present in a Gibson book.

Series: Lovett, Texas #3
This is the first book I have read by Rachel Gibson and it won't be the last! I laughed, and sighed and was intrigued enough to keep listening till it was over. Vince and Sadie were a great match together, both looking for nothing and found something. Their banter was terrific right from the start and I loved how Sadie kept adding more texas slang to her vocabulary the longer she stayed.
The narrator was easy to listen to and had enough voices that I could differentiate between the characters, I would gladly listen to her again. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Fantastic. Gradual relationship development (instant sex though, so keep that in mind). Just a good setting and fun book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Liked the heroine, liked the hero; didn't necessarily like them together. It just didn't seem like this story ever came together.
The ending seemed rushed, like a page count was reached, book done.
There were couple of secondary figures I would love to see get their story told. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A fun, light read. While I enjoyed much of it, it doesn't rank up there with my favorites by her. The ending felt rushed and I'm not 100% sure I believe in the HEA. I was entertained and enjoyed the story, however. I just didn't love it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Really enjoyed it. Took a bit of getting into, but I loved the heroine. If I have one grumble, I wished it was a little longer. Solid writing and thoroughly enjoyable.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5If you're looking for a summer beach read and someone whispers in your ear - Rachel Gibson, Lovett, Texas, `Bubble Yum pink bridesmaid dress,' thirty-three-year-old hot blonde with cowboy hat and boots - and then they tossed in the words - Navy Seal - would you bite?Darn straight.`Rescue Me' is Rachel Gibson's latest offering in the summer romance sweepstakes. And it's a lot of the things Gibson's fans expect it to be - funny, hot in all the right places (after all, it is Texas), and predictable.Which leads us to the biggest problem with `Rescue Me.' There's good predictable (hot, raunchy, funny), and there's `here we go again` predictable. How many times can one be expected to read and enjoy what is basically the same plot with the same characters? And the answer probably is, as many times as she wants to. So....For those who want a guaranteed lightly amusing and almost satisfying hot romance novel set in Texas and filled with local twang and familiar characters and stratagems, "Rescue Me" may well be what you're looking for.And for those who want belly laughs and truly hot sex? May I recommend 1999's `Truly Madly Yours,' one of Gibson's best?(A review copy was provided by the publisher.)
