    Amazing story, very well narrated.
I've no idea why it is marked as "gay" nothing to do.
    It's worth the listening.

Great book. Great narration. Ample representation and complex characters. As sson as I submit this review, I'm going to see what other titles the author and/or narrator have produced. Six thumbs up!

This was a great crime thriller! No big twists or surprises but it played out like a good movie in my head!! I grew up in a small town in the Midwest and am drawn to books that carry that vibe. I feel like we haven’t heard the last of Sherrif Ben Packard and could see this turning into a type of crime thriller series! Here’s hoping.

One of the reviews said that there was no gay line to it, but there was. Storyline was interesting but was not up to listening to some parts.

Good plot, friendly writing, fun, engaging cast of small town character. Sexy detective, too!

Omg! I just finished this book after I read the first one in the series and liked this one even more!
The mistery is deep and complex, and so personal to our main characters.
I rooted for the good guys since the beginning and couldn't believe the man guy could be so mean.
I wonder how hard it would be to write these characters, they are so out of touch and cruel.
The overall plot sweetly reminded me of Scooby Doo and the fact that there can be so much mistery in a small city.
The language is clear and simple and very engaging.
Can't wait for the 3rd book in the series. It is not usual for thrillers and murder mystery es to be part of a series nowadays and I love this one for it. So much more to unpack, and a lot more time to spend with our characters!

Crime fiction is one of my favorite genres. I also love police procedurals. And There He Kept Her is a debut that follows Detective Ben Packard as he puts the clues together to solve the mystery of the missing teens. Overall, a pretty good debut.

One thing I loved is the small town setting. This is one of my favorites to read in mysteries. I also enjoyed the different POVs and the thought process laid out by the author as Detective Packard wades through the murky waters of the townsfolk and their history.

As with some police procedurals, the whodunnit is know from the beginning. I don't mind this at all, but if this is the route the author decides to go, I would hope to be locked in and interested during the entire book. This one was pretty slow and dragged on in some places. It definitely wasn't one I was in a rush to get back to.

However, with that being said, it's a solid debut and looks to be a series. I would definitely read more from this author and recommend this one for fans of this genre. I appreciate the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.

Good book. It had a good flow and storyline. I did not expect the twist at the end involving Cora.

Just an okay thriller. Nothing unsuspected or twists, but it was a book that could have been so SO much better with a better narrator. Yes, this was one of those examples where a bad narration can just kill a book. I had figured it out before half way thru the book. This could be recommended for a 'Newbie to the thrille genre'.

Surprisingly very good! Very realistic story with a disturbing subject line, but sprinkled throughout with humor and fun, well developed characters. Very good narration! A good listen!

This book was great! I will say the narration was a bit stale (lacked voice inflection & attempt at slightly changing tone when speaking as different characters), but the story was believable and plot well-written as far as how it flowed.
