I like Izzy and Jathen's uncle. Spider is a spitfire and Jathen is getting better, though still annoying with his self-deprecating.

I enjoyed this book much more than the first , very enjoyable and moved the story on nicely whilst introducing new characters.

Terrific storyteller with a remarkable vocabulary--such a relief that this author doesn't feel the apparently widespread belief among many of today's authors to "dumb down the storyline" in the hopes of reaching a wider audience. Also refreshing was fact that "steamy sex" was not found necessary to keep the storyline vibrant & fast-paced! KUDOS!!

I loved the many intelligent races and their complex interactions. I had trouble following at first and thought perhaps I entered a series in book two or three, but once I felt comfortable in the world, I loved it. The characters were sensitive and insightful, and the action was fast and full of surprises.
