It will be a top 25 showdown in Tuscaloosa on Saturday as the #14 LSU Tigers take on the #8 Alabama Crimson Tide as Brian Kelly's squad looks to hand Alabama it's first conference loss. LSU got a win at home last season against Nick Saban but as they look to make it two in a row, what are the biggest keys to victory for LSU on Saturday?
First, the Tigers will need a huge day from Jayden Daniels and the rest of the LSU offense. The Tigers have won every game on their schedule thus far because of Daniels, wide receivers Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas, and running back Logan Diggs, so it isn't unexpected or extraordinary to ask a big day from the offense. However, that is going to be more difficult against Alabama than it has been all season long as Alabama has the 17th ranked defense in all of college football.
On the other side of the ball, the defense has struggled mightily and even that is putting it lightly. LSU has the 88th ranked offense in college football, a ranking that has been inflated over the last two weeks after facing the struggling offenses of Auburn and Army. This defense will be shorthanded without DL Mekhi Wingo, but Harold Perkins, Maason Smith, Jordan Jefferson, and the rest of the big men up front will need to stop Alabama's rushing attack and try to force Alabama QB Jalen Milroe to force turnovers to give Daniels and the offense more opportunities to get into the end zone.
