Description

Proteins are large molecules made up of smaller building blocks called amino acids. As a macronutrient, protein can be obtained in our diet from both plants and animals. Protein is metabolically critical and structurally necessary to keep us healthy. When protein is broken down into amino acids, each of them have their own function and importance as well. Are you getting enough protein in your diet? What happens in the body if you’re deficient? How do you get more?
In today’s episode, we discuss all things protein. We also single out a few specific amino acids and touch on what makes them important.
