Welcome to the first episode of The Lab Report - the podcast for medical clinicians and patients to discover the various options and treatment plans available in today’s ever-changing world of functional medicine. Your hosts, Patti Devers and Michael Chapman, explore all things functional medicine and specialty lab testing - from the ways functional medicine and conventional medicine compliment each other to how clinicians and physicians can add more effective and comprehensive tools to their toolbox.
Patti is a board certified Osteopathic Medicine physician with nearly 20 years of experience as a hospital physician before starting her career at Genova Diagnostics. She currently works in the Medical Affairs department as well as the Content Manager at Genova, where she is responsible for reviewing tests and providing clinician consultations as well as writing and managing the company’s content.
Michael is a Product Development Manager and Medical Education Specialist at Genova. He is a licensed naturopathic physician with a clinical focus on hormone regulation, gastrointestinal health, and autonomic balance.
In today’s episode, Patti and Michael share who they are, what they do at Genova Diagnostics, and what it’s like to work at Genova. They share their career journey and explain the difference between a naturopathic physician and a primary care physician. They also share what inspired them to start a podcast on functional medicine and specialty lab testing as well as what you can expect from each episode.
