October is National Bullying Prevention Month and we are encouraging students and families to get to know our state and local resources. The value of all kids feeling safe in their schools and in their communities is one shared across the country. And no matter where the learning is taking place, creating safe and welcoming educational environments is a top priority in the Hillsboro School District.
Our featured Event is our Virtual Dual Language Summit. Many thanks to everyone who joined us for this inaugural event, which took place on Saturday, October 2nd, and featured expert speakers and panel discussions on the three pillars of Dual Language: bilingualism/biliteracy, academic achievement, and socio-cultural competence. HSD is committed to celebrating and cultivating linguistic and cultural diversity in our student body and community, and this summit was a key part of that effort.
