The New York Yankees lost two of three to the Baltimore Orioles over the weekend, and there were some good things like Aaron Judge coming back and being Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole pitching great on Friday, but there were also bad things like Cole getting the no-decision because the offense couldn’t muster a run. On Saturday, a good thing happened. That same offense “exploded” for eight runs supporting Clarke Schmidt. Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Kyle Higashioka all went deep. Then on Sunday, Luis Severino put the Yankees in a giant 7-run hole in the bottom of the first, and they couldn’t recover. But the positive from Sunday’s game was the bullpen, who didn’t give up any runs after Severino left. So it was an up-and-down weekend for the Yankees, who are now 55-50 on the season. There were rumors about the Miami Marlins being interested in Gleyber Torres but the Yankees reportedly wanted too much in return. We discuss the package and give our thoughts. And there’s no rest for the Yankees, who will start a three-game set with the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday night. Can the Yankees win that series? Maybe.
