The New York Yankees won a series after losing three straight thanks to a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians in 10 innings. But of course, because it’s the Yankees, there were injuries and weirdness during the game and the action really didn’t get started for the Yanks until later in the game. The hitting hero of the night—aside from the walk-off hero Jose Trevino—was WIllie Calhoun who hit his second homer as a Yankee to put them on the board and the game-tying single in the ninth. Jake Bauers also hit a home run, his first since 2021. We discuss how it may be a bad thing for the Yankees to have so many injuries but it gives guys like Bauers, Calhoun and reliever Ian Hamilton a chance to shine. Try to look at the positives! We also discuss the return of Harrison Bader and what he means to the team. He was injured and had to leave the game on Wendesday night but it looks like he might be okay. And finally, Gerrit Cole won AL Pitcher of Month, of course, because he’s been pitching out of his mind so far in 2023.
