It was a wild weekend in New York with the Yankees dropping the first two games of a four-game set to the Minnesota Twins. It ended with a complete-game shutout by Gerrit Cole who outdueled Pablo Lopez and who has looked otherworldly so far in 2023. On Saturday there was controversy with Domingo Germán and his sticky fingers. But the Yankees prevailed and on Friday night, the Yankees dropped a tough one but Anthony Volpe hit his first MLB home run and got that monkey off his back. It’s Minors Monday and we let you know how Scranton, Somerset and Hudson Valley did this past week. Specifically Andres Chapparo, Max Burt and Ben Rice. Plus we mention Spencer Jones because how can we not? And finally, with Cole pitching as well as he has so far this season, is it possible for him to hit the 300 strikeout mark? We discuss it.
