The New York Yankees held an in-person press conference on Monday to re-introduce Juan Soto to the media—his first one was a Zoom call. In the press conference, Soto talked about many things, including his impending free agency, the Yankees’ possible 2024 lineup, playing at Yankee Stadium and playing with Aaron Judge, and what he can learn from Judge. Stacey and Steve break it down for you. Then, Clarke Schmidt hopes to build on his 2023 campaign in 2024. He said he changed some things in the offseason, including his offseason workouts, and that he’s working on his curveball and slider while also hoping to incorporate his changeup more in 2024. And finally, Brian Cashman came out and said the Yankees have not had any extension talks with Gleyber Torres and that Torres is their second baseman “for this season.” Should we be reading anything into this at all?
