The New York Yankees beat the Toronto Blue Jays 7-4 in the opener of a four-game set. And speaking of openers, the Yankees used one on Monday night! Jimmy Cordero who opened for Johnny Brito, Cordero pitched two perfect innings and Brito pitched five and ont-third innings before running into trouble in the eighth inning but that was partly because of a Gleyber Torres error. On the offensive side Aaron Judge had a big night and we discuss that. Is he back? It sure does seem like it. The Yankees offense had a good night against Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah who issued a career-high seven walks in his four innings of work. Then as we teased on Monday’s show, we’re talking about Mariano Rivera’s comments about Clay Holmes and his role as the Yankees’ closer. Mo had some interesting things to say about Holmes and about himself. The comparisons may shock you and finally, we have Craig Ballard of Locked On Blue Jays joining us to preview the Domingo Germán-Kevin Gausman matchup on Tuesday night.
