The New York Yankees were swept out of Anaheim after a 7-3 loss in the series finale to the Angels. Carlos Rodón had a rough start. He only lasted four and one-third innings and gave up six runs, including two home runs, and walked five. Nothing was working for him, his pitches were all over the place, and we discussed it. The Yankees got home runs from Giancarlo Stanton and Franchy Cordero, but they also got baserunning mistakes and sloppy play. The Yankees are sinking fast, and this 1-5 road trip did not help. Then we are joined by Jon and Mike Frisch of Locked On Angels to discuss the series, the similarities between the teams, and what we think each team will do at the deadline. We also reveal the winner of this week’s bold predictions. Then we discuss an article from The Athletic by Brendan Kuty that discusses in-house solutions the Yankees can make to help the team. We come up with our own suggestions and wonder if the Yankees will do any of them (spoiler alert: two have already happened).
