The New York Yankees are stumbling toward the trade deadline, and if they keep going in this direction, they’ll be sellers. The Yankees dropped another extra-innings game, this time to the Angels, 4-3 in 10 innings. And they’re now 5-8 in extra innings. Luis Severino started and looked way better than he had in his previous two starts. He only gave up one run in six innings and was in line for the win before a questionable decision allowed Shohei Ohtani to tie the game in the bottom of the 7th. We try to figure out Aaron Boone’s strategy and wonder if Boone and Phil Nevin were trying to outmanage each other all night (badly). Then we discuss Oswaldo Peraza’s role on the team now that he’s up (and seemingly up for a while because of Donaldson’s injury). And we preview the second game of the series between Domingo Germán and Patrick Sandoval. Will the Yankees lose a third extra innings game in a row?
