The New York Yankees won 4-1 against the Detroit Tigers on Monday night. Luis Severino had his best start of the season, going seven shutout innings, giving up five hits, not walking a batter, and striking out eight. To say he needed this kind of outing would be an understatement. On the offensive side, the Yankees were shut down by Tigers’ starter Reese Olson, who struck out a career-high 10, but the Yankees got things going against the bullpen with Aaron Judge and Gleyber Torres going back-to-back. Gleyber also hit an RBI double, and Oswaldo Cabrera got into the act with an RBI single. The defense also looked good, and we talked about it all. Then, we discuss Giancarlo Stanton’s comments to the New York Post about his 2023 season. It’s been rough for him, and he’s not happy about it, understandably. Then, we preview the pitching matchup for the second game in Detroit. Michael King is making the start for the Yankees, while Tarik Skubal will be starting for Detroit.
