Stacey and Steve discuss the meaning of this, and they tell everyone to give guys like Oswald Peraza and Everson Pereira some time to adjust to the Majors and not expect too much too fast. Then, they recap the series with the Rays. Another series loss, but they had a chance to win it on Sunday, and then the wheels fell off, which is the theme of 2023 for the Yankees. It was their eighth rubber game loss in a row. There were some positives from the series, like DJ LeMahieu hitting again and Gerrit Cole bouncing back nicely from his lousy start against Boston, but it was more of the same for the hapless Yankees, who can’t win series anymore. Then it’s Minors Monday! And the Triple-A and Double-A squads are doing way better than the big club. We shine the spotlight on some players you may not be familiar with and also discuss how well Somerset’s pitching staff as done recently (which isn’t a surprise because we always seem to talk about that. The Yankees are heading to Detroit to face the Tigers in a four-game set starting Monday, and Stacey and Steve make their bold predictions.
