Description

The Women's Health, Wisdom, and... WINE! podcast is a biweekly conversation with practitioners, providers, patients & healers about complex reproductive medicine & women's health challenges, the value of an integrative approach to these challenges, many of the women's health topics you're already thinking about & uncomfortable talking about & my personal favorite... WINE!Vaginal steaming is a traditional self-care practice whereby someone sits or kneels over a warm pot of boiled water, gently exposing the entire pelvic region to the rising steam. To enhance the effect of the steaming, clinically approved organic herbs may be infused in the water to give the steam additional therapeutic properties. Vaginal steaming is a universal practice utilized on most of the continents including Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceana, and the Americas. Vaginal steam practicers have popularized the terms "pelvic steaming", "perineal steaming", and "peristeaming" in order to utilize more inclusive terminology.  About our guest:April is from a small town in south Florida called Moore Haven where she was reared by her mother & grandmother.  Pampering her grandmother after a long day of caring for the elderly, she developed a passion for tending to others.  She decided to pursue a career focusing on skincare with the Aveda Institute (DC) as her  foundation. With a curriculum heavily rooted in Ayurvedic philosophy (where one learns to study the individual as a whole (spirit, body & soul), she soon developed an eye for seeing beyond the skin.  Facials and waxing turned into therapy sessions that revealed deep, emotional wounds that soap and water couldn’t reach. Since hormonal breakouts became all too common & now having an interest in women’s reproductive health and wellness, she could no longer ignore the call to serve women in a more intentional way.   Instead of placing her 10 years of serving and teaching in the beauty/wellness industry aside, she sees where it fits perfectly on her journey of purpose.   Mastering the art & science of healing  through touch (Raindrop Therapy), aromatherapy & Hydrotherapy (Vaginal Steam) at the Eudaimonia Center is where you’ll find her.Resources Mentioned:Steamy ChickVaginal Steam ThroneCurrent Wine SelectionNext Week's Wine SelectionConnect with VinoBLU® Wine Bar:WebsiteInstagramFacebookTwitterThe hashtag for the podcast is #nourishyourflourish.
