This week we’re diving even deeper into “sympathetic dominance” (chronic fight or flight mode) and what impact this has on the body physiologically. When you can’t calm down, you can’t “secrete” properly (both hormones and fluids) meaning you may have issues sleeping, digesting, eliminating, or getting horny. Olivia and Nick get personal and candid about what puts them in fight or flight mode and how they cope — especially when they feel guilty for resting. We discuss our generation’s obsession with productivity plus the oh so nuanced PERCEIVED stress (and how to flip the script mentally). Stress can be a huge catalyst for change, so using it wisely and seeing it differently is key to overcoming it. Throughout the episode, we’re constantly talking about hacks and tools you can use to spend more time in PARAsympathetic mode (rest and digest – which is the opposite of sympathetic dominance). These range from CBD and herbs all the way to simply using your own breath.
