There are a variety of reasons secondary amenorrhea (a missing period for 3+ months) can occur, but the two most common reasons are PCOS and hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA).   In today’s podcast, we will walk through the lab work and symptoms of both HA and PCOS, to help you understand the similarities and differences between these two common hormone conditions.   If you have a missing or irregular cycle, I would HIGHLY recommend that you do investigative work, order more lab work with your doctor and talk to them about your symptoms, even consider a DUTCH test, so that you have a plan tailored to you and your needs.
