Description
Today, we’re going to talk about how to get rid of bloating and abdominal distension.
The major source of stomach bloating is microbial fermentation. This is the chemical breakdown of carbohydrates by a microbe. These microbes have the ability to breakdown fiber, whereas the body can’t.
When the microbes breakdown these undigestible fibers, they turn them into some interesting things:
1. SCFA (small-chain fatty acids)
2. Lactic acid
3. Methane
4. Hydrogen
5. CO2
6. Nitrogen
7. Hydrogen sulfide
What you can do to help reduce bloating:
1. Adjust or eliminate your consumption of certain carbs/fiber like:
• Fruit
• Garlic
• Onions
• Asparagus
• Milk
• Yogurt
• Beans
2. Add a good probiotic
3. Try certain foods to reduce bloating:
• Fennel
• Ginger
• Anise
• Peppermint
4. Take apple cider vinegar or betaine hydrochloride
