    Wandering Lost - Samuel Ludke

    Whisper

The bell above the dusty door, it chimed a lonely tune,

As Sam stepped in, a stranger's face, beneath the veiled moon.

No hand extended, greeting warm, just silence stretched so wide,

A world of metal, waiting hands, where secrets did confide.

Masks, a canvas painted white, hid features, friend or foe,

Guns, a weight upon their hips, a story yet to flow.

Introductions, here they played, in glances sharp and keen,

A dance of tension, unspoken words, on this metallic scene.

Sam, a name upon the breeze, perhaps a whisper, too,

Walked in with purpose, shadows cast, what did he mean to do?

The air hung heavy, thick with doubt, a question in each eye,

Would friend or foe step from the mask, beneath the painted sky?

But poems don't hold violence, and words can't bring forth strife,

So let's just say Sam walked in then, and entered a new life.

A life within the mask's embrace, a world where trust is frayed,

Where introductions whisper low, in a world of steel displayed.

    Concrete Jungle

He strides these streets, a titan carved in flesh,

No godly form of marble, cold and stark,

But mortal clay with purpose, a burning mesh

Of confidence that leaves its searing mark.

His city, sprawling beast of steel and glass,

A concrete jungle where ambitions climb,

He walks its canyons, untroubled by the mass,

A sovereign spirit conquering space and time.

The morning hum, a symphony of tires,

The cacophony of horns, a city's breath,

He navigates it all with stoic fires,

A silent king amidst the mortal wreath.

The sun ignites the windows, glass ablaze,

Reflected glory paints his passing form,

A fleeting halo in the urban haze,

A touch of majesty weathering the storm.

He walks with purpose, not a hurried pace,

Each step a measured beat, a steady drum,

The rhythm of a conqueror in this space,

A conqueror of self, before the day can come.

The bustling crowds, a sea of hurried souls,

Weave patterns 'round him, an unnoticed tide,

He parts the waves with presence that consoles,

A silent power in his steady stride.

The towering buildings, giants made of stone,

Seem dwarfed by him, who carries worlds unseen,

His thoughts, a cosmos where his burdens groan,

Yet on his face, a stoic, tranquil sheen.

He passes by the newsstand, headlines scream

Of wars and woes that stain the human heart,

He carries burdens too, a silent team,

    But walks with shoulders
