Birds In The Trees - Samuel Ludke

    Towns

We walked, a symphony of soles on earth,

A rhythm etched in dust since human birth.

From cobbled streets to jungle's dappled floor,

Our steps have painted stories evermore.

We toddled first, unsteady, hand in hand,

Exploring worlds in grains of shifting sand.

Pavements became oceans, cracks, our ships,

Each wobble, a quest for daring, daring trips.

As childhood bloomed, with laughter light and free,

We raced on fields, a blur of wind and glee.

Skipping stones on lakes, with hearts alight,

Each splash a victory, a glorious flight.

Through bustling towns, where commerce held its sway,

We wove through crowds, a silent, weaving way.

Shop windows, kaleidoscopes of dreams untold,

Luring curious eyes, both young and old.

On moonlit paths, beneath a starlit dome,

We whispered secrets, whispered dreams of home.

Aching hearts found solace, side by side,

Footprints marking moments where we confide.

We climbed the mountains, lungs ablaze with fire,

Each labored step taking us ever higher.

The world unfurled, a tapestry grand,

A symphony of peaks, by human hand unplanned.

Through sun-drenched meadows, where wildflowers swayed,

We wandered barefoot, worries all waylaid.

Butterflies fluttered, bees hummed a gentle song,

Nature's embrace, where we truly belonged.

On windswept beaches, where waves crashed and roared,

We left our prints, soon swallowed, then ignored.

A fleeting testament to our presence here,

The endless dance of tides, both vast and clear.

We walked on cobblestones, worn smooth by time,

Echoes of history, etched in every rhyme.

Cathedrals whispered tales of ages past,

Where pilgrims trod, their faith forever cast.

Through bustling marketplaces, a vibrant scene,

    Spices
