Dedication

This book is dedicated to the First Giant Slayer in my life, my Mom Esme Phillips. The one I so lovingly call Mame.

Growing up along with my three sisters Claire, Joanne, and Jameela, we all saw our father, Cecil Phillips, as the Giant Slayer. He was a Giant Slayer in his own right. A strong, bold, and very influential leader in the community, leading many to adapt great traits and accomplish tasks they themselves thought they could never achieve. Hence, because of what we saw him do, our perception and view of him was that Cecil was D Giant Slayer in our family. Except as we got older and time went by, we started to recognize who the real Giant Slayer in the family was. It wasn’t our father, it was truly our mother, Esme Phillips.

Behind the scenes Mame was killing the giants we could not imagine nor had any idea were trying to destroy our family. Through constant prayer and the leading of the Holy Spirit, she would fight natural and spiritual giants that would come to attack her and her children.

On many occasions I remember her waking us up saying, I feel something heavy in the house. Get up, let us pray. Let’s clean the house. My job was to clean the yard, so I had to get out there and start cleaning and disinfecting all around the house. She would then play songs from Mahalia Jackson and Andre Crouch which would set the atmosphere for the Presence of the Lord in our home.

While my mom was not a regular Church attendee, she understood that if she set an atmosphere for God to come into our home, He would fight for us and Destroy the Giants that were coming up against us.

Over the years my mother has kept our family afloat with her Godlike wisdom, humility, and strength. While not fully well-informed of Spiritual Biblical Principles, by the Grace of God Mame was able to direct us to our destinies.

To the first woman I ever loved and still do love wholeheartedly, I dedicate this book. This is for you, Mame.

To Esme V. Phillips, my very personal and first example of a GIANT SLAYER.

It was early Saturday morning as I was coming out of my slumber that as I engaged the Lord with praying in the Spirit that I heard Him say clearly, There are giants in the land.

I was truly surprised by what was said as I knew it was our season of Jubilee. A time to be healed, rest, relax and enjoy the freedom that He releases to us in that season. Things that are held up, we believe are released during Jubilee. Wealth, lands, businesses, promotions, wives, husbands. We are in high expectation because it’s Jubilee! And God, You are now telling me that along with all that good news You promised, there are giants in the land?

The Holy Spirit then said to me, Don’t look at it as the Children of Israel did but understand that I have given you the giants and the land. All that pertains to life and godliness, is yours. Yes, it is your Jubilee.

He continued, "For I have brought many of my people
