    Praise be to GOD

    Preface

In the study of GOD’S Holy WORD, I was struck with—awe at the hearing of the words of David, a man after GOD’S own heart (1 Samuel 13:14 & Acts 13:22). What I heard was the words of my Lord, JESUS.

We often say, Before the time of CHRIST…, but I believe in saying this, we lose valuable insight (in our spiritual lives and in that of those we touch). This because JESUS is the WORD of GOD: In the beginning was the WORD (John1:1) and the WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:14). So, you see HE always was. Were we not taught that death and life are in the power of the tongue? (Proverbs 18:21). And was it not written that king Nebuchadnezzar, when he threw the three Israelites into the fiery furnace, said, Did we not cast three men bound into the mist of the fire? Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of GOD (Daniel 3:24-25).

If you have not already, open your minds to the revelation that JESUS was known before HE came to earth in the form of man and to that of the revelations within the scripture as you continue to study scripture.

So, as we feast further on the WORD of GOD, continue contemplating that JESUS was, always, from the beginning, because HE is the very WORD of GOD. These are not just practiced words they are actually SPIRIT and TRUTH; they are JESUS — And the WORD was made flesh and dwelt among us . . . (John 1:14). Written by men, yes. But men enlightened through JESUS’ HOLY SPIRIT.

    John 1:1-4

    1) In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with GOD and the WORD was GOD. 2)The same was in the beginning with GOD. 3)All things were made by HIM; and without HIM was not anything made that was made. 4)In HIM was life; and the LIFE was the LIGHT of men.

If this seems a bit complicated, let me give you a scenario: You have an idea in your mind; it’s just a thought. As long as you keep it there, it remains intangible. You can’t touch it; it won’t produce; it will not become a reality. GOD had a thought, and JESUS is that part of GOD that speaks it into reality. (Remember, death AND life are in the power of the tongue). Just as you move your idea from your mind to your tongue, you start saying and doing things to breathe life into that idea: JESUS is that part of GOD which brings to LIFE.

The FATHER The SON The HOLY SPIRIT

(Your thought) (You speak it) (You take action to make

    it happen)

So, when the Bible (which is the WORD of GOD) says we are made in HIS image, yes, we are. Listen: (Genesis 1:26) "And GOD said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over . . ."

Off topic, but contemplate this a moment: The devil, Satan, was an angel, who rebelled against GOD. We know in scripture he wanted dominion, even dominion above GOD. GOD had dominion: HE also gave dominion (to humanity). Can you imagine Satan and/or can you imagine your own sinful nature (in any given circumstance) saying, I want dominion or Why not me? even, I’m smarter, stronger, wiser . . .? How about, They got it because . . . or they don’t deserve it... We were bound in this way of thinking at the onset of sin. This is why GOD sent CHRIST JESUS, that we might have opportunities to realign our way of thinking towards GOD’S way of thinking. Listen to GOD through HIS prophet.

    Isaiah 6:8:

Also, I heard the voice of the LORD saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

This is JESUS’ acceptance of the task of coming to earth in the form of humanity that whomever shall choose to believe on HIM may be healed to eternal life. HE knows every heart is able to hear truth, but not every heart will accept it. Keep your heart open to truth and to saying yes to it as we continue our journey, singing the Psalms of David and walking the path with JESUS to the cross.

    Psalm 1

(Psalms 1 and the Sermon on the mount, see their duality)

    "

Vs.1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of

the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

Vs.2 But his delight is in the law of YAHWE’ (Hebrew for

GOD) and in HIS law doth he meditate day and night

Vs.3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of

water, that bringeth forth much fruit in his season; his leaf shall not wither; a whatsoever he doeth shall prosper

Vs.4 The ungodly (are) not so: but (are) like chaff which the

    wind driveth away

Vs.5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgement,

nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

Vs.6 For YAHWE’ knoweth the way of the righteous but

the way of the ungodly shall perish.

    And now…

    Matthew 5

    (The Sermon on the Mount)

Vs.2 And He (JESUS) opened HIS mouth and taught

    them saying:

Vs.3 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom

    of Heaven.

Vs. 4 Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be

    comforted.

Vs.5 Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.

Vs.6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteous-

ness for they shall be filled.

Vs.7 Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.

Vs.8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see GOD.

Vs.9 Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called

    the sons of GOD.

Vs.10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’

sake for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.

Vs.11 Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute

you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account

Vs.12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in Heaven,

for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

The Psalms tell us of blessing if we abstain from walking in the paths of the ungodly and how if we seek GOD diligently, we will stand firm in our ways. And on the occasions, we don’t, our hearts will mourn. And this is the leading to true repentance. This is an open door to the Kingdom of Heaven, not only for ourselves but for those to whom we profess CHRIST not only in word but in character also. It IS GOD’S great work in humanity.

Matthew 5 (Sermon on the Mount) tells us if we have these attributes, we will be blessed, and it also tells distinctly how we will be blessed.

Combined, we see a clear picture of how we are to walk before GOD. If we seek HIM, meditating on HIS WORD day and night, (we must practice this until we truly mean it, GOD knows us as we know our own children) we will become strong (in faith), even as a planted tree. And we will exemplify the attributes of the faith, enabling us to become the sons of GOD, receiving the blessing, not only in this life but the one to come. It’s like with your own children; if they study and do well in school you give them gifts. In the Kingdom of GOD, the gift is faith. Monetary things will pass away, but faith endures forever. GOD knows your need. First things first, know that HE will not fail you in your study time or ever! Study is a lifetime achievement.

    Psalm 2

    "

Hear the WORD, that is, CHRIST JESUS, through HIS servant David. David, who GOD declared, from his lineage would come MESSIAH, JESUS.

Vs.1 Why do the heathen rage; and the people imagine a

    vain thing?

Vs.2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers

take counsel together against YAHWE’ and against HIS anointed saying,

Vs.3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their

    cords from us.

Lean in and listen, as we believe that David is speaking these words in his own efforts, into the understanding that he is not speaking these WORD(s) of himself, but it is JESUS speaking through him with HOLY SPIRIT. Let’s go on.

Vs.4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: YAHWE’

    shall have them in derision

Vs.5 Then HE shall speak unto them in HIS wrath, and vex

    them in HIS sore displeasure

Now! Listen! Here it is- here is JESUS (GOD)! This is our certainty that JESUS’ HOLY SPIRIT is speaking through David.

Vs.6 Yet have I set my king upon MY holy hill of Xiyyon

    (Zion)

Vs.7 I will declare the decree: YAHWE’ hath said unto me

THOU art my SON; this is the day I have begotten THEE

Above we hear JESUS declaring the decree that GOD would say to Him, THOU art my SON… This is a picture of the completed work of GOD. Said, done. Even generations before its manifestation, we are seeing here what the disciples witnessed (see: Matthew 3, Mark 1, Luke 3 & 2 Peter 1). GOD’S finished work. JESUS is the WORD of GOD and here in this scripture, through David, JESUS speaks—declaring what GOD has set forth.

We are, and humanity has always been, in the completed work of GOD. It is because of sin that our faith is so dim and why JESUS came to humanity in its very form, shining a light in the dark places that sin chains us to; that we may have faith, even in this state of unfaithfulness.

Vs. 8 Ask of ME and I shall give (THEE) the heathen (for)

THINE inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth (for) thy possession.

GOD foreknew the completion of the works of the cross. HE is telling JESUS, Ask me; it is okay to ask me for the Gentile nations and I will give them to you. (Smiling) And Jesus did ask (smiling). You know, when we become close to GOD through the acceptance of HIS SON, our SAVIOR, HE tells us also, Ask of ME. The Church is CHRIST’S, HIS inheritance, even the uttermost parts of the earth". We hear in scripture that the church is the body of CHRIST, this means we are all (the Church) a part of HIM.

    (1 Corinthians 12:27)

Now ye are the body of CHRIST, and members in particular.

    Also, (Romans 12:4-5)

For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in CHRIST, and every one members one of another.

    Listen to GOD!...

Vs.9 THOU shalt break them with a rod of iron; THOU

shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel

Vs.10 Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye

    judges of the earth.

The scripture above is telling us not only of the gifting of humanity but JESUS’ authority over it, to the uttermost parts of the earth. As we hold an iron rod of rule over the lives of our children, let us remember, with our whole heart, the one so lovingly held over our own lives. Let us heed the warning to be wise and to be instructed (in GODLINESS) that our children also may heed that which has been warned.

    Psalm 3

    "

Vs.1 LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! Many

are they that rise up against me.

David, who had to hide from Saul and the people who would turn him in to Saul, and even later, would have to hide even from his own son who wanted the throne, could have very well have felt this very verse. And the fact that his own child rebelled against him tells me that David carried his cross, even as we today have a cross to bear. HOLY SPIRIT instantly led my spirit to when the multitude tried to throw JESUS off the mountain side (Luke 4:28-29):

Then all those in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, and rose up and thrust HIM from the city; and they led HIM unto the brow of a hill where on their city was built, that they might cast HIM down headlong.

Can you imagine that JESUS would be praying feverishly to GOD HIS FATHER in times such as HE experienced in Luke 4. Listen carefully (again) — YAHWE’, how are they increased that trouble me! Many (are) they that rise up against me. So many against HIM, the priests of the temple, plotting to take HIS life, and being thrown out of cities because the frustration of sin could not bear to hear TRUTH. And these were HIS enemies in humanity. We don’t often think of HIS spiritual enemies, who thought of HIS humanity as HIS road to failure. Evil spirits tempting with evil thoughts, hungry for His demise as He resists, calling on the FATHER to strengthen him. This is what he did; this is how we are to follow.

Let’s proceed with this same thought: JESUS (trapped in sin, living in humanity) praying to FATHER GOD.

Vs. 2 Many (there be) which say of my soul, (There is) no

help for HIM in ELOHIM. Sela

Vs. 3 But thou O YAHWE’ (art) a shield for me; my glory,

and the lifter up of mine head

Vs. 4 I cried unto YAHWE’ with my voice, and HE heard

me out of HIS holy hill. Sela

Did you know that Sela means suspension or pause? Not only that (Hear the WORD of the LORD), it also means to lift up or exalt. In other words, . . .

    Sela!

    Praise Break!!!!

So now we know when we read the WORD of GOD and come across the word Sela, it was a time that praises were lifted up unto the LORD. Now, when we read the WORD of GOD and HOLY SPIRIT reveals depths of its revelation to us, we can shout!

    Sela!

Vs. 5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for YAHWE’

    sustained me.

Here, again, open your mind to the understanding of Jesus’ humanity. His ability to know death, pain, hurt (emotional), fear, and frustration is as real as it is for you and I. His reliance is totally on GOD (whether we accept it or not, so is ours). This is faith.

Hear as Jesus did, understanding HIS purpose, understanding HIS fight against sin, even understanding the destination of the purposed plan of GOD HIS FATHER. He is preparing the humanity of the flesh of sin he was born into and speaking and reassuring it of the promise of YAHWE’. Hear the WORD of the LORD:

Vs. 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that

have set (themselves) against me round about.

Speaking of those who tried to throw Jesus from the cliff in Luke, how cool and calm was our LORD JESUS as the people gathered not only tried to throw him from the house of GOD (HIS FATHER) but also, from a cliff. His heart stayed steadfast on GOD. For all HIS power and authority in Heaven, Jesus must maintain his humanity. Spiritually, he was open to an enemy (as we are) much stronger than
