    Sweet Destiny - Jeri Andrew

    Note from Jeri

Welcome to my imagination in print.

I hope you enjoy the journey.

For me, retirement means finally being about to create worlds and creatures of fantasy, to share with others.

Since a very young age, short stories would flow off the end of pencil, onto paper, so easily. But, I kept them private, shy to allow anyone else to see them or read them.

Still, writing has been my passion since I can remember.

One would think I would have made writing my field of study, but sadly, I’ve had no real formal instruction in the art of  writing.

Sitting down with a pen and paper, allowing the stories to flow, is my style.

Writing fantasy fiction, in a time where technology allows me to publish my works, making the stories available globally, in multiple languages, is beyond amazing!

Native to Texas, USA, I’ve been told that I write with an accent, therefore, I am compelled to tell y’all ahead of time, that this series is written in Texan. Not heavily, some.

I haven’t concerned myself with creating stories that my high school English teacher would have graded. I’m focused on telling the stories, so, I hope my style of writing is comfortable, and will whisk you away on a journey of magic and romance.

Although this is a work of fiction, research has allowed fact to mix in where ever possible.

The vision for away Beyond the Sky, Where Dragons Rule, the Series.... Is, in my mind, akin to a daytime drama, aka, Soap Opera type, ongoing series, sci fi/fantasy style.

The entire series focuses on the life and times of Queen AlaHanDrea, the most unique, powerful and dangerous creature in all of creation.

Queen AlaHanDrea is neither good or evil. She simply is that she is, having little to no patience for actual evil.

She loves God and loves pleasing Him, so, one might take it that she’s basically good, but ask her food, and they believe that she is evil incarnate.

    Chapter 1

AlaHanDrea could sense him. She couldn't see him, but she could sure sense him!

It finally began to grate on her nerves...

She went up to the crow's nest of the boat, then said, "look, I know you're there, materialize.

    I said, Materialize!"

She held her hands up as tho she was holding onto a rope, then began pulling on the rope, hand over hand... Staring off into a distance only she could see...

All of a sudden, a tiny image of a man, very far away, appeared off in the distance.

The young Queen continued to pull slowly on the rope.

The closer the person came, the larger he became, until he finally stood in front of her.

The man immediately fell to his knees in front of her, head bowed.

Who are you and what do you want... why are you always watching me?

I shouldn't be here. He said without raising his head, still shielding his face.

Well, you are here, so, look up and talk to me, who Are you?

    "That's a fair question.

I, am Professor Drew Watson, Ph.D., professor and keeper of History."

    "Oh!

    You're the Historian!

I've heard stories about your kind.

Always watching... Observing, correcting facts..." AlaHanDrea commented.

Yes, I'm the Historian and I shouldn't be here!

But, you Are here! You may as well have a seat and take some time off. Pun intended.

    "Ha, ha, very cute.

Truthfully, I'm curious about that famous nectar!" Dr. Drew Watson told his hostess, as he took a seat.

Well, professor, we can have a very secret relationship, because technically, you're not here, because you have not been born yet...

You know, that's very true, he agreed with a smile.

    I'm pregnant.

    I see that!

She sighed, with a bit of a disappointing attitude.

You're lonely, I can feel it. You're craving affection...

Your right. And you're not here... She repeated.

Drew stood up next to her, gazed into her gorgeous eyes, then kissed her so sweetly. After the kiss,  he hugged her, holding her, with her head on his shoulder, just holding her, for a little while, before returning to the background...

    She smiled.

Just knowing he was there was a comfort.

She had always suspected he was there, lurking, watching..., she just had no confirmation before then.

She knew she wasn't being paranoid!

As Drew sat in the background, he discovered he was too distracted to properly observe.

He was So glad he had successfully removed all the prior visits from her memories.

The historian was grateful that he got to keep his memories of their past that never happened.

Merrill knew Drew was there. Merrill and Drew knew each other. They met in the future, already having known each other from a past that never happened.

Interacting with anyone in foreign periods was strictly forbidden and for good reasons!

It was considered to be criminal trespass... No good could come if it. Still, it occasionally happened.

Merrill and Drew were guilty of breaking that rule, frequently.

Merrill enjoyed visiting with the historian!

    The dude knew the future!

    ___________

Mark! AlaHanDrea called out. Mark! Janet! Janet! Mark! Mark!!!!

Mark and AlaHanDrea's nurse, Janet, ran to her side.

    AlaHanDrea what's...Ah! What's this?!

When they arrived at AlaHanDrea's cabin, she was already laying back, resting.

"Well, we're here, we may as well check her out, Janet said to Mark.

From the looks of things, it won't be long now, Mark said to Janet.

The baby is putting her through some changes, that's for sure! Janet remarked.

AlaHanDrea shot up in the bed, wide awake, they are about to battle! They are going to war! Then she suddenly vanished, much to Janet and Marks's horror! They didn't even try to follow her.

A viewing screen popped up! The Drones were all over it! Over 10,000 troops on each side, preparing to battle!

The irritated young, very pregnant, warrior queen, grew herself to way beyond the status of giant, covering more sky than the Soldiers covered land!

    "I said, BE QUIET!

THERE WILL BE NO BATTLES TODAY, OR ANY OTHER DAY, OR, I WILL SMASH BOTH SIDES FLAT!

    DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?!?

    NO BATTLES!

I'M PREGNANT AND IN NO MOOD!!! " She shouted.

The wind from her words blew all of the troops rolling backward for about 20 or 30 yards, if not more!

Both sides gave up and retreated.

No one dared push their luck with her.

A regular woman was scary during pregnancy, AlaHanDrea was nothing short of terrifying!

Everyone was glad that she chose to spend her pregnancy on her yacht.

There was a ton of respect for those whose job it was to remain on the boat with the cantankerous, pregnant warrior queen.

MARK! JANET! JANET! MARK! MARK!!! AlaHanDrea called out.

    M A R K!!!!! She Screamed.

Mark and Janet arrived at about the same time.

Well, what do we have here? Janet asked. aaahhh!!! Look, Mark! She's gorgeous! May I please hold her? Janet asked.

Before AlaHanDrea could object, Janet was gone.

The baby burped, then giggled. Just like AlaHanDrea had done as a baby.

You may not want to hold her, Mark, AlaHanDrea cautioned.

I'm not afraid of a baby! I'm ready for her! He declared, then reached down and picked her up.

The baby was getting very frustrated when Mark was holding her. At one point she began screaming and thrashing about, Mark held her securely and allowed her to have her fit!

AlaHanDrea could tell they were locked in a battle! She decided to just sit back and watch.

She knew the baby was trying to absorb mark, then was trying to make a meal of him, it just wasn't working out well for her.

    Mark was impressively powerful!

Mark bathed the baby, then took her to her mother to get fed.

She's beautiful, AlaHanDrea. Beautiful! Mark commented as he handed the baby to her mother.

Of course, I will not ever be safe around the child. She's mad she couldn't have me. The day will come when she wins that battle, just not today!

Her name is Destiny. Destiny Angelica Raynea AlaHanDrea declared. So, you believe she will be determined to have you?

"Absolutely. No one tells her no! I'd be extra careful if I were you. She may decide to absorb you, your majesty.

    That's such a pretty name!

    So, how are you feeling?"

"I'm o.k. she came out very quickly.

    I'm glad.

    It was miserable.

Mark,  I'm not afraid of my baby."

Well, maybe you should be! She's not to be trusted. She's you plus an angel! Only she didn't absorb a Goddess of love and passion like you did! She's extremely dangerous! Mark warned.

Of course you're right. I can feel her trying already... Please, take her away.

Are you ready for the drones?

    Sure, let them in.

    ______

"Breaking News: sources told Access News on the Cuff,

Today, Princess Destiny Angelica Raynea was born to Queen Ala Han Drea!

Both mother & baby are said to be doing fine.

Of course, the same cannot be said for the nurse. She will be greatly missed. Baby's first meal was quick, at least."

    Here, scorch over, Mark instructed.

He sat down next to the exhausted new mother, cradling her in his strong arms.

Destiny laid in her bassinet ...

Mitchin didn't know what to do. Sarafina showed up, scolded him, then took him by the hand to go see Athena first.

Athena was fit to be tied!

Mermaids laid eggs in clusters on certain plants where they grew until they hatched.

Somehow, a predator had managed to get into the hatchery, stealing the eggs of many mermaids, including Athena's.

She was beside herself with grief and sorrow.

Mitchin did his best to comfort her, but she was much too angry at him to even look at him!

Sarafina sat and tried, then something caught her eye...

Athena! Sweetheart, Look! Look sweetie!  It's an egg! A single, solitary egg! The creature must have dropped it! Look!

Athena looked up at Sarafina, you keep it. I don't want it. It'll just remind me of him! He only wants me because AlaHanDrea won't have his cheating ass and I'm nobody's second place....! And how dare him imply that I am! I thought I meant as much to him as he did to me! I'm a mermaid! We don't lose our hearts like this! He made me feel things I didn't know I could feel! Then he shattered my heart and thinks he can come waltzing back? I don't hardy think so! She screamed.

Mitchin took the egg and swam away. He headed for AlaHanDrea. Sarafina stayed with Athena.

Before Mitchin could make it to AlaHanDrea, the egg hatched! It was a baby girl! Several angels appeared, taking the baby
