About this ebook

Rejection, either in the past or present, is painful. Unfortunately, it often causes us to feel unwilling to forgive, bitter, hopeless, and unable to move forward in life. But God wants us to know that we are in good company because Jesus Christ, the Crucified One, was rejected as well. The Good News is that we can be delivered from the spirit of rejection in all areas of life because the Lord understands our pain, hurt, and disappointment. After all, He has been there too, and, even better, overcame rejection.

N. L. Fox leads believers who have been rejected and outcast on an inspirational journey inward while sharing personal and biblical stories, prayers, and illuminating scriptures that explore rejection in families, friendships, the church, the workplace, the nation and world, and other instances. Throughout her testimony, Fox encourages Christians to shed the chains of rejection and hopelessness to embrace His unconditional love.

In the Company of the Rejected shares stories, scriptures, and prayers that inspire believers to overcome the pain of rejection to be renewed in their God-given destiny.

    INTRODUCTION

I wanted to write this book to help those who experienced rejection in their past and present, those who experience it repeatedly, and those who get stuck in it and can’t move forward in life. Rejection is like a door closed in your face. If you have many doors closed in your face and don’t understand why, perhaps this book can give you some revelation. These words are Holy Spirit-driven. Some are my testimony.

I pray that you capture the light in the Holy Scriptures so that you can be set free from the spirit of rejection. You can get unstuck and carry on with your life healed and set free. I call it stuck because rejection is a hindrance. It is a hindering spirit. It’s like someone or something puts their hand in your face and says, No, turn around. Be gone. I don’t want you. You aren’t welcome here. Living with rejection can sometimes be like imprisonment. There is a separation from what could happen in the present and the future by the pain of your past.

According to Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary, rejection means to refuse to accept, consider, take for some purpose, or use, cast off, spew out, or refuse to allow.¹ Rejection is such an oppressive spirit; it hinders forward movement in any area of your life. It’s like getting stuck in the mud. Rejection brings about fear of getting rejected again. Who wants to be hurt again and again? So you may be placing that area of your life on hold for fear of getting hurt again. Let’s be honest and get set free. Perhaps you tried getting over the rejection but shy away when something or someone new comes along because of the memory of being rejected in your past. I have experienced rejection quite often from my children to adult life. I have experienced it with my dad, friends, intimate relationships, church, the workplace, and the world. Be encouraged. There is a breakthrough and deliverance from rejection! You can be renewed in your faith. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ has been rejected. The lovingkindness of Yahweh Himself was rejected by the nation of Israel. We will talk more about this later.

You may think you got a rejection beat, but think again. Have you dealt with rejection when you feel you have to change or give up on your dreams, desires, or aspirations just because of it? Perhaps you think that Jesus won’t accept you because of your upbringing or sin in your life. That is a lie of Satan, the forever loser. I ask that you read this book and rethink and pray to the Lord. He knows what you are going through and has your answer and breakthrough.

God has chosen you. No matter what your life has been like or what it is now, you have been chosen by Him. The Lord has placed dreams and desires into your heart. Nothing can remove these dreams and wants from you except you. You may have a creative idea, a book, a business, a song, or a ministry deep within you that you may not currently be aware of. Rejection from your past may hinder the birth of what you have been anointed and blessed to accomplish.

With Jesus Christ, you can overcome this rejection in your life. The Lord can and will
