THE STORY OF HIS LIFE OF GIVING
1
INTRODUCTION
THE MESSAGE MY LIFE PREACHES
I want to be God’s noble in giving to the Lord. The message that my life preaches is: ‘‘The power of a man’s all invested in his God’’. I have never held anything from Him. I want that history remembers me as a man sold out to God and the pursuit of God,
a man of integrity, a consecrated man,
a man with a large heart that contains multitudes of people, a man of deep love for all men and a noble man of radical giving to the Lord.

WE CANNOT KNOW GOD WITHOUT GIVING
Selfish people will not know God. God gives Himself to those who give.
Yaounde, 18 October 2008.
THE GIFT OF GIVING
The gift of giving is the unusual capacity to see the great financial needs of God’s kingdom and to give until it hurts so that those needs are met to the glory of God.
It is not giving out of your abundance. If it does not ruin your personal projects, that is not it. It is not giving until it hurts once in a while. It is giving until its hurts as a way of life. In fact, you cannot cure the person. Even if you encourage him not to give, he will soon go and give. It is giving that is based upon vision—the vision of the perishing souls of men, the vision of the glory of the King.
Some people give but keep back enough to live on comfortably. They don’t have the gift of giving.

A HISTORY OF GIVING
When I saw the vision of the value of a soul, I chose a simple life. I was in India with 5 000 dollars in my pocket, but I ate vegetable and fried rice morning and afternoon. It was the cheapest meal. I have a profound fear to spend God’s money. At the airport in France, I bought two pieces of bread; a euro each, and I drank water since water was free. I could have relaxed and eaten luxuriously.
Then I asked to receive a vision of hell. One month after, the Holy Spirit came on me, and I was shown a vision of hell. That was what drove me to the streets of Kampala. I know where the lost will be, it is horrible.
One more thing, when I was a child, I went with Papa from Andek and Ashong. Every place where we ate and there was meat, I kept aside the meat to come and give my mother. After six days, I had something like 17 bundles of meat. I did not know the meat will go bad. When we got home I opened one parcel after another, and they were all bad.
There was Empire day in Mbengwi, (a town in the north west of Cameroon) Papa gave me six pence. I stayed where I was given breakfast and supper. I didn’t spend the six pence. I came back with it and gave my father. I was 12 years old. That day, I became my father’s friend. At 8 and a half years of age, I cleared a Bakossi (a tribe in Cameroon) man’s farm, he paid me one florin. That was my first gift to my father. A florin could buy 24 exercise books. That comes from God.

GIVING TO GOD
THE FIERCEST BATTLE
The knife that ever broke my heart the deepest was when I had to submit at the demand of God to give Him the same percentage of the gifts that were given to me as I gave from my salary. To yield giving to God the same percentage I gave of my salary, was the fiercest battle and greatest break of my life. I know the conflicts, the negotiations with God. The restlessness that will not be accepted because it wasn’t God’s best. I know it and you know it too.

THE STORY OF MY GIVING – 1
My story of giving to God is written here in 15 covenants with God. When I saw, I didn’t climb gently. In 1993 we were giving 83% to God. When I went to India and came back, we moved to 90%; then to 99%, and eventually 100% and then lived on gifts; the next year, we gave 100% of income and 20% of gifts. In one year, we moved to 100% of earned income and 90% gifts. I went from 20% of giving to 90%; in one year so there was hardly any money, and so forth.
When people are cajoling things and hope to make progress they are deceived. Now I have two trousers. Today, Celine came for us to work on the book, A Missionary Heart and A Missionary Life and I felt heavily rebuked. I am going to do further violence on myself. The heart will not change in small degrees. I told you about the woman who lost 36 kg in 6 weeks and went to the Olympics games. The Bible says, ‘‘Put to death what is carnal in you.’’ You don’t put to death by caressing.

THE STORY OF MY GIVING – 2
He went down with them and stood on a level place. A large crowd of his disciples was there and a great number of people from all over Judea, from Jerusalem, and from the coast of Tyre and Sidon, who had come to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. Those troubled by evil spirits were cured, and the people all tried to touch him, because power was coming from him and healing them all. Looking at his disciples, he said: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God (Luke 6:17-20).
What is your bold gift for this year? I want to give 45 million francs CFA this year. I am fixing the amount that constitutes my salary for 25 years. I earn 526,000 francs CFA as a University Professor on super scale. The total income is 6 million francs CFA plus. So, if I say I will give God 100%, it will be 6 million. Last year, we gave 36 million FCFA to the Lord. Let me tell you, first of all, there is a law of supreme sacrifice.
I have one pair of shoes; with the fast, it became so big and I gave it to someone in Douala. I have another one now. Then I put in everything I can put in. This year, we are going to give God 92.75% of our income and I am pleading that God should give us 55 million francs CFA. 92.75% of that will be 51 million francs CFA. Outside my salary, the only thing guaranteed is my royalties, approximately 2 million. But I did not start there. I started at 20%, 25%, 30% etc.
In 1989, when I was in Israel, that is when the Lord told me to make a big jump in my giving. I took the family on a retreat. Ruth (their first daughter who is now a missionary to UK based in the Midlands) is a seer. She was the one who worked for the children to come along. We gave 80%. It is then that I caught the vision of not just giving percentages. Then we went to 90%. We had another covenant with God. We went to 100% and lived on the gifts from people. Then we went to giving 100% of all of our income and 10% of gifts, then 100% of income and 20% of gifts; then 100% of what we earn and 90% of gifts; then 100% of what we earn plus 100% gifts.
Then God led me into miraculous gifts. So when we gave 100% of income plus 100% gifts, we lived on miraculous gifts from heaven. Then we moved to 100% of what we earned plus 100% of gifts plus 10% of miraculous gifts. Then we
moved to 100% of what we earned plus 100% of gifts plus 20% of miraculous gifts from heaven.
There should be a written story. Here are all those transactions. The transaction was renewed each time I came to Malachi in my Bible reading. ‘‘O Lord, I put You to the test about giving.’’ This year we are giving 100% of what we earn plus 100% of gifts plus 50% of miraculous gifts.
We have given God 409 million francs CFA since the work started. I am impatient to get to 500 million FCFA. You see, we are on the 52nd day of the fast not by accidents but by laying hold on God. We could still be turning around 40 days or two weeks. We might never have broken to the 40 days fasting history. The limits are not set in heaven, but on earth. Sometimes God throws a thing, if you lay hold of it, it will become a command. We might never have gone out of Cameroon. Are you being called to rise higher?
During the first fast, we laid on the bed most of the time, until we began to fast and pray. Now, we fast, pray and preach. When God must, He does!
In the gifts of January, I included things that were sold last year, 450,000 FCFA. People gave me perfumes, socks, ‘‘agwada’’ (outfit), etc. Is that a supreme burden? Do you want to plunder hell and give to heaven? Or you want to give anything.
People give me Bibles, sometimes books, I give them for sale. Who here will give more this year than last year?
Since 1978, we have not given the same percentage any two consecutive years. If it was that, it would have meant stagnation for the work. So when salaries were decreased, we increased our giving because giving is prophetic. Respond to this opening of my heart to you. Take a step of faith. When salaries were decreased, my salaries were decreased from 2000 dollars to 500 dollars yet we made an increase in giving.
Yaounde, 22 February 2009
TOUCHING THE INVISIBLE
Giving is prophetic of one’s personal income. You prophesy not by what you keep, but by what you give. The law of heaven is: when you touch the invisible, it is done; when you touch the invisible, it happens. If you don’t touch the invisible, it will not happen. In January, we gave 99% of our income to the Lord because we touched the invisible. Sometime ago, it was as if you were going to climb on a rocky mountain. You are given a cord of faith. If you hook it in there, you begin to rise. When you touch it, you may tremble, but it is settled that it is hooked. Look into your history. Whatever you touch, it hooks. You have to touch the invisible.
Yaounde, February 1995
OPPORTUNITIES ARE TIME-LIMITED
Every opportunity has a limited lifetime. After that, it is closed. Mrs Obiaga got people to call me out of the plane to receive the 10,000 US dollars we gave the Tsafack as they were going. It was a unique opportunity. A year before, we told the Tsafack we would give them 10,000 US dollars and Mrs Obiaga did not know about it but she was under burden. By the time, she got to the airport, I was already in the plane. They called Professor Fomum out of the plane, and when I got out of the plane, I received the money.
Yaounde, August 2000
THE CHURCH’S FINANCES
The elders of the church in Yaounde decided on Wednesday 19 July 2000 that from now on, 80% of all income of the church will be given to the work in the following proportions:
45% to the International Missionary Fund.
30% to the General Fund.
5% to the National Missionary Fund.
Yaounde, 22 July 2000.
FINANCIAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The leader must be accountable to God and then to man. The goal of this year in giving is that Prisca and I want to give God 25 million Francs CFA. My monthly salary is 330,000 Francs CFA. Prisca’s salary is 180,000 Francs CFA. That is what is sure. Now, to begin to think about 25 million, is the whole matter of not giving according to the visible. You do not give according to what your income says you should give. You give by faith. It is not by logic. If you give by sight, it does not work. If you decide to give by logic, even 40% is not a joke.
Yaounde, 11 January 2001.
I BELIEVE IN BEATING RECORDS
During one of the family retreats, we had settled we were going to make 80% the goal in our giving to God. The retreat was in Etoug-Ebe. In the last minute, I changed my mind; I wrote 90% and we all signed it. I remember Dr Tsafack asked me, ‘‘So does it depend on man?’’ I want to say so much depends on man. When I remember I read ‘‘Le Tourneur’s’’ biography, in my office in the house of prayer, I said, ‘‘If I don’t beat this man, then I have failed.’’ I believe in beating people, beating records. I feel bad if there is a point where someone can get to and I don’t get there.
Prayer meeting
Yaounde, 16 February 2001.
MIRACULOUS PROVISIONS
I will publish a book on the first 200 gifts that came as interventions from heaven as one of the books to be read in the school of living by faith. I will begin today. Pray that our people would believe God.
Night of prayer.
Yaounde, 29 September 2001.
THE SEVEN-FOLD GIVING
If your wife is cursing you for your giving, you have missed it. You are forcing your consecration on another. It can’t work. If you made a false jump, repent because falsehood in the financial life
