Javier Rhoden
This was the introduction to my spirituality and learning how to do things for myself. The extension of help I gift to others could only come from the capacity in how I’ve helped myself. It was then, I understood that as a human, experiences were needed for growth and this growth can only sprout from branching out of my comfort zone. At the end of it all, I wanted to build something more meaningful by planting seeds from the darkness of life, to watch it grow and spread among different people, thus generating light. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will die one day and in no way, would I want there to be any regret for making the same decisions the masses believed to be the right ones, meanwhile neglecting my gift as the last choice. After all, the goal in this life, my life, is to express this consciousness healthily.

Panorama - Javier Rhoden
[intro]
someone who reveals insight on their life
can restrain you from making obtuse choices
walks of life are anthologies
for deconstruction, to enhance reconstruction
without reserves or means to withdraw
this is how to grow in omission from regrets
in living how you choose, absent apologies
without additives of sugar, open the mind to overstand
words weren’t materialized to offend, poetry
was creation to take whatever you can
from penned perspectives, to think and feel for yourself
this body of work is to inspire skulls in question with life
an artist must bring the world to their universe for it to become theirs
it’ll never adapt to one with billions of people
transmitting circles of psychological circumstances
not everyone construe visions seen on earth to pierce illusions
change comes from set examples, not undiscerning opinions
never become this tornado of presumption, remember
the world outside your head is vastly different
from one coveted within
while on erth, remain down to earth.
no matter appliances of hard work
success remains brittle, learn to be humble beforehand
difference between self-love and arrogance
is learning how to crawl out of quick sand
don’t hate yourself when called out, self-love remains coachable
it isn’t narcissism, if others benefit positively
from support in your jazz band, every soul has a platform
to build dreams with their own two hands
it’s mindset to not stay depressed, even when oppressed
the frame of mind is never stressed
negativity a sucker, positivity the nurturer
it’s self-reliance over codependence, not perfection
improvement of self is investment on worth
responsibilities are planted seeds from it
the last to grow on trees are fruits
don’t allow toxicity to brew
don’t follow trends to gain friends, there’s always a bargain
truly discern what’s being thrown to your blend
know when explanations should be gifted, know who deserves silence
descriptions cannot decrypt you without knowledge of history
as in his-story, hence why
life remains a mystery, see how to break it down
to two words for simplicity, closing e
to o
for it to become my-story
with parables to motivate you through other narratives
don’t be phased by judgment if you’re the push
behind every move, life becomes a journey
once you progress in its groove
excrescence.
parents resided in aftermaths of divorce
you faded to rooms of unconcern
a world in combustion before comprehension
unbalanced and destructive, a fragile mind in rupture
partook in worship every sunday, but would be in brawls by monday
not turning another cheek resulted to a praying mother
forever grateful, but those moments felt like nothing was done
when situations demanded action, interaction was slacking
only to eavesdrop later, it’s impossible to converse with my son
invasion of space meant he got interactive
stubbornness mixed with hostility to outgrow familial apostasy
to lessen escalation of issues
home wasn’t where diseased hearts resided
it was where unsteady energy rested, this
a kind of bondage to specialize in keys
to speak secrets like grounded wordsmiths
had much to say but no one understood, always in the wrong
parents were programmed to believe youth to be ignorant, this
a glue to trap you in inner bankruptcy of dependency
despite engagement delivering inconsistency
these were cycles of hurt, to teach new meaning to ignorance
by observing those in presence of knowing
yet choosing to ignore what was seen
like a mother who denied responsibility
in saying something one day with after effects, only to deny it the next
to be called delusional was manipulation to hide stench of regret
like an older sibling who gave impressions of caring
but chose blinders in dire circumstances
initiative was out of production, yet it was questioned
why they weren’t confided in
you were disposed of due to grudges
held on because of something they did to you
if loyalty didn’t recognize blood, who won’t they abandon?
fake love penetrates deeper than hate
this was implant of unsolicited emotions
to make you feel crooked in what’s spoken
conditional terms dismantled religion
to dysfunction in spoils of hypocritical unions
exchanging one family for another, manifested as spirituality
a man in compromise of himself awaits death
personal development is resurrection from the dead
in environment of emptiness
levels of understanding shouldn’t be martyred
for sake of saving perspective of another
this is why no matter how old one may age
mindsets remain childish
people will refuse to revise their concepts
these are ones to love from afar
when their denial begin to travel unpaved roads
leave them to demises of cramped feet
use introspection as fire to purify toxicity
there comes a time happiness becomes settlement in peace
for no longer being bothered
so learn to go your own way
better father.
a child wants to pave his own way
talents are keys to success, what if
parents were carbon monoxide to invade
the very air you breathe?
it’s understood they know better by experiences
but no two perspectives are similar
what worked for them may not work out for you
it’s why you grind differently to ensure you reach new altitude
they think it’s useless attitude when behavior shows defiance
scopes of vision remain linear but your spirit is rather granular
they’re suffocating you in their beliefs entwined with the next person
unaware they gave birth to as your own individual
doubt your ideas so they push for you to have a different plan
what if expression in this world was all you had?
they’re bounded by time, the same shackles to entrap feet and hands
now you’re going by their clock
as opposed to what’s ticking internally
a child who knows no better but you learn of yourself
better than anyone else
am i wrong to believe there should be mutual respect?
what’s worthwhile won’t show itself quickly
it could all make a u-turn swiftly
all eggs in one basket, so you have no regrets
before laying in a casket
yet their way
their way is set in stone from what they’ve been told
unaware they’re the very blemish upon your soul of gold
would i be wrong to desire being a better father
who held his son accountable
