Javier Rhoden

This was the introduction to my spirituality and learning how to do things for myself. The extension of help I gift to others could only come from the capacity in how I’ve helped myself. It was then, I understood that as a human, experiences were needed for growth and this growth can only sprout from branching out of my comfort zone. At the end of it all, I wanted to build something more meaningful by planting seeds from the darkness of life, to watch it grow and spread among different people, thus generating light. I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will die one day and in no way, would I want there to be any regret for making the same decisions the masses believed to be the right ones, meanwhile neglecting my gift as the last choice. After all, the goal in this life, my life, is to express this consciousness healthily.

    Lamentations - Javier Rhoden

one of the most courageous things you can do

is to continue living every moment you wanted death

i know the space in our minds become graveyards

    where poisonous weeds thrive

it’s hard not to notice lifelessness among what’s potentially beautiful

    but nothing ever dies

    everything eventually gets transferred

    undoubtedly, one can experience rebirth

    ––––––––

these are passionate expressions of sorrow to revive the dead

    also by Javier Rhoden

    Luminescence

    life support.

    there i was

an old soul who walked in

with withered soles of work boots that exhaled dusts

    in thought of you

rubbing relief in every thousand mile and a half

    ––––––––

    you took my hands insisting

we kept trudging through sands restricting feet

as you became my life support

    the cleanse.

there’s a subtle beauty in the way

rain meshes with gravel on edge of cliffs

with an attraction that makes me

    want to jump with you

to snapshot the cleanse from our bodies

as grime become confused in dusty trails behind us

    ––––––––

"i cannot help but to smile

at the thought of us bursting into stars on impact"

    you said

    the return.

i remember stringing goodbyes to tips of stars

    thinking outsiders would have mistaken

those sad streaks for comets, but there was no acceptance

    for display of inner inspirations

    ––––––––

my feet became lanterns to battle shadows

in disguise of plagiarized words with sheathed meanings

when lungs inhaled reliability from essence

but sincerity peeled from your breath

    lay.

    among smells of petrichor

we lay with the world as our blanket

while staring up at the moon we bled

and left above as a reminder

    that despite becoming pale someday

    we’re forever alive

    offsprings.

    we were vintage photographs

in trimmed edges of cream tint

    ––––––––

with ambience of perfection captured in its center

we lingered there on a bare wall

to live in decorations of cracks

    near holes in consistent birth

    of memories

    trace.

i want to outline constellation of scars

    in layers of your skin

to read scripts embedded in pages

    of goose bumps

    to study inscriptions that define

    your existence

    imprints.

    i beg you to remember

our linger in limbo with lips

    centimeters apart

    ––––––––

    each time breaths caressed skin

    i engraved love letters

in the least painful way possible

    bond.
