    Chapter 1 Landing

'Fasten you safety belts girls, Grenada is now not far away, it's a windy place judging by the sea state from up here, I expect you're excited.'

'We really liked Florida, the Zoo and Disney world, isn't this a place for older people.'

'You've been rather spoilt in Florida, not much on offer for youngsters at your ages here, Mary, you'll have to read books and do puzzles, I'll miss the tennis.'

    'I cant read yet.'

'You'll be learning to, Fay, we'll most likely be sailing over to Trinidad.'

'Ooh Tobago is on the way, I looked up where we were going on the charts in Florida and I've read Swiss Family Robinson which was on the boat, there's a parrot sanctuary in the tropical rainforest, I can home school from this boat?'

'You can Mary, well, I'assuming you can daddy and his brother are flying back to bring the other one down.'

'I know, more space and we're using Grenada as a base, as there's little chance of hurricanes here as it's now the end of August.'

'Correct Tina, even less in Trinidad, here the swoosh of air as the flaps are lowered, we'll soon be on the ground and daddy and perhaps your uncle to greet us.'

            Outside the airport terminal

'No sign of them, ah here's somebody coming over girls. A very tantalising young lady of around twenty years old, I used to look like that believe it or not'

    'Then you had us.'

'Yep, then I had you three, Mary'

'Hi, the boys had to take the boat out this morning as it had sprung a plank so there at the boatyard fixing it, they said you'd know what this was.'

    'I'm surprised it didn't sink.'

'Bilge alarm sounded so they started up the emergency petrol pump to sort it out, complex items to have boats by the sound of things, many people seem to have lots of problems with them, though I expect its a topic of conversation as little else happens here.'

'The children were quizzing me on activities here'

'There's swimming, walking, snorkelling, fishing and beaches, no amusement parks, a down turner in life for children in general, especially as you've come from Florida.'

'Funds were depleting rapidly, Florida is expensive with three youngsters, so needs must, when entertainments are on the doorstep one tends to indulge.'

'I'm knowing this. I was in California for six months and blew a ton of money as it's so easy to over indulge in such places, daddy stopped clearing my credit card so I headed down here with a friend whose grandparents have a place they have retired too and they just love us.'

'I expect so, my parents aren't that organised, they will continue as they are till they die though they did downscale, two streets down though with no thoughts about seriously moving on.'

They all get in the minivan and set off

'This is not so far as I assume we're turning here as you're indicating.'

'Most places aren't far as its a small island, this a new development of twelve houses, a small enclave secured by this automatic large gate and high walls with electrified wires on the top.'

    'Looks very palatial.'

'It is relatively, most people who live here had the same set up in the States.'

    'English?'

'None here, there's a tent on the lawn been put up for you, the boys reckon they'll be a week out of the water as they've ordered a new propeller, the one that's on is just reaching disintegration stage, plus a bottom coat of paint.'

'There's a pool at this house?'

'No, as it's a small complex of twelve the pool is shared which is good as its reasonably large'

    'The children need some activity'

'They do, you could possibly borrow this car to explore, it belongs to the grandparents of my friend  who live here as its 4x4 with air conditioning, they only do around fifteen miles a week in it for going shopping so really a taxi would suffice for them'

'It's a relatively small island to warrant a car, useful if you've children though'

'Oh yes, the school run, visits to the doctor, dentist and
