                  Flaming

                Red Headed

                    Girls

    Fiction

Chapter I  Lydia's House in the Morning. Setting A town in the Uk Suburbs

'Your Sister is back in one hour after a sixteen year sabbatical with your dad, last week I was alone in an apartment, now we're all back together, I'll see my American granddaughters, a variation on girls would be good in this family, you've one each and she's two, her man is dead and your husbands are doing life, minimum twenty years'

    'We'd picked bad ones'

'Obviously Rachel, reckless Fifi who remained unscathed after fame and fortune then woe and doom; conned by a religious cult followed on by an association with a drug lord, then getting banged up twice by that fabulous looking actor who overdosed on drugs which were no doubt from that nameless notorious drug lord. She shunned witness protection twice then your dad took upon himself to eliminate the drug cartel with hired mercenaries, and made sure of the job by eliminating two more while the hired hands were in the right place'

    'Job well done I'd say'

'That Elisha is correct, viewed dimly in the US for the they cannot go about life carte blanche themselves'

'Mercenaries are for hire and I expect they hire them for dirty deeds'

    'Indeed Rachel'

    'So whose is this house?'

'Clueless Rachel, but your father is on his way apparently, referred to some as a Godfather as opposed to a good father in California which of course that has deep ramifications towards violence; at least the press is camped out in the road so Fifi has a Hollywood reception'

'We'd better get dressed up in, in what though'

'White Elisha, she's wearing black, Amanda and Annette are in pink and white, she's just appeared on Sky Tv now at Manchester airport'

'Oh yes, the spice man and spice woman they’re being referred to as on the subtitles on the TV, that'll be dad in disguise'

'I think so Rachel, Amanda doesn't help as she's climbed up into his arms and is waving at everybody and blowing kisses, a triple DNA combination with her, took the world by storm last week with her grandad on his farewell USA concert, getting out her push chair for her first ever walk which happened to be across a stage and onto his lap while he was playing on the piano then sung along with him'

'She managed front page on all the newspapers, impressive for a one year old that's not royalty'

'She was referred to as one though Rachel, what shall I wear. Okay, he's EX, but so not too dull'

'A red number mum, if we're in white'

          'I think so Elisha'

        Chapter 2  Manchester Airport ,

'Oh, it's the same as when we left the place'

'Dull, wet, cold, ah some people with some umbrellas, hopefully there's less crime over here Fifi'

'Hello magazine, any chance of an exclusive with you and your sisters, you're all notorious on both sides of the Atlantic, Miss Forbes'

'Oh yes, there men are locked up, safe from dad here, too many drugs in the world'

'You're looking forward to being back'

'Well it's safer, also wetter, mixed feelings of course good for the children and my sisters have children around their ages, mum will be enthralled to meet the amazing Amanda, dad let Amanda have a go on the sky mike'

'You hold her and I'll do the mouth organ and see if she'll kick in, ahoy mister cameraman get a close up on her with her mum she likes cameras, and lets try this, yep she's off, and so are the remaining cameras, you'll be a you tube sensation later with this lot Amanda, you dance along Annette'

          Back at Lydia's

'Well, they're warming up the morning Mum'

'Hey, what's are they up to Elisha, oh right, so I see, already spicing up Manchester, oh Fifi is dancing with Annette while holding Amanda whose singing, too much, total tear jerkers, going to be pandemonium down here, at least we've a longish drive'

'I'm ready, what have I missed, oh right, okay I'm off down the drive, tantalise the press here too, just get my new long boots on'

'I must get some of those Rachel'

'Be quick, our superstore boutique will be history soon Mum, it's rumoured that's dad's bought the property outright, so maybe not, but dresses aren't his or our thing really'

'No, none of you are not that bothered but everything looks good on you, an average pair of jeans look a thousand pounds on you two, they've finished and they are getting into a stretched limo and push chairs with luggage is being piled in the boot, we'll follow you Rachel'

At the end of the drive 'Hi guys'

'The town's big guy is back, you know of his intentions'

'We've been around for a hundred years, so I guess its kind of home by now, they've set off from the airport and here's his brother and cousin. Hi guys, busy time, they love celebs around here, so a business meet up with dad'

'Hello Rachel, catch him here while he's here as he's get around'

'His four granddaughters in one place should keep him in one spot'

'Maybe, you and your sisters have seen the ordeals of court'

'Oh yes Charlie, top barristers, we were clueless to our men's going on and of course the more  that are brought down more accolades, commendations and advancements for the relevant persons careers, but we missed the trip to jail, lucky it wasn't dad'

'No he just gets all the scum shot'

'Oh our men would be dead for sure, we've already got our divorces underway. I don't know you....?'

'Jason, your second cousin I think'

'Sounds right Jason, has he purchased the fashion store?'

'I think so Charlie. I got these boots there yesterday, in fact a load of gear with Sis, who's here now, and another whir of camera shutters'

'Hi all, Charlie and Jason I believe, mum's fussing'

'Three very striking daughters, first time together for fourteen years, a lot happens in fourteen years'

'It does Charlie, we were scrawny red heads with freckles, then suddenly Fifi bloomed and shot off with Dad to the states'

'She was a handful at fifteen Rachel'

    'Still is I think Charlie'

'It looks to be so, something happening at the end of the road'

'That's the police, crowds are gathering, there live on Sky and ITN news, I've just got a text from my wife'

'No doubt she wants autographs Jason'

    'How did you guess Charlie'

    'I was actually joking'

'Here they are on my phone coming into town, there's FiFi holding Amanda and waving'

'Let's have a look, there's a number of people too, ooh she's stunning with her flaming red streaming in the wind, good phone Jason, ah another whir of shutters, hello Lydia, there's news trucks following them, making most of the big re-union'

'I can't wait to meet my granddaughters, your grandnieces as you're connected Charlie'

'Of course they are, I thought my wife was little out of sorts when I shot off without her, but I was picking Jason up'

'Oh I'll give her a call to come down, I hit M&S last night with the girls so we've lots in'

'This house, has he bought it?'

'I've not asked, the girls don't know either Charlie'

'i think not knowing with him is a good path to follow, the least you know the better Lydia, they're getting nearer amazing that’s there so many people out cheering'

'Maybe expectant of a revival of this ailing town Charlie'

'Many towns are, uncertain times, online now making so many businesses irrelevant that used to operate on high streets and offices, causing strife, of course persons like your Ex seem impervious to this'

'He rides the storm out, ruffled feathers settle down again, then eventually its calm'

'What's name is he using now?'

'I don't know Charlie, girls your dad's latest name'

'Nathan Gilroy, we're privileged as he's just dad to us'

'Thanks Rachel, I like that one, I'll just call him brother'

'Ah the surname is one of his Ex's'

'Well he's got a few permutations there then Lydia, can myself and Jason walk up to the house, we're definitely in the way here'

    'Sure'

'Here comes the limo and FiFi is still out the sunroof with Amanda, slowly coming in for this gathering, ah I'm going to burst into tears Rachel, and here's Annette with her head through the sunroof now '

'Too much mum, let the limo get up the drive we'll shut the gate then we can have privacy'

    'It is too much Elisha'

'Us two are going down, and here's our Sis getting out'

    'Oh I'm coming'

The Limo comes slowly up the drive towards them

'There you go mum, hold this little gem, this is Gran, Amanda'

    'Gran'

'She's pointing at Rachel and Elisha'

'Red heads mum, she'll cotton on quick to whose who, come on lets put these gates shut, ooh family, I never missed you guys until now, now I realise I've been missing you all the time'

'The press are shouting for the three of us together Fi-fi'

'We'll oblige Rachel, they love pretty girls and notorious ones even more so'

'Add in the famous for you'

'Yeah, gives a bit of kick to everything Elisha, ah here's dad, they'll love this, kisses and hugs for you two, dad embrace your girls'

'Okay, a big reception, the centre of town is getting ghostly with so many empty units, here we go Rachel and Elisha, ah tears'

'Girls miss their daddies, I've got to share you now'

'Okay a wave and close these gates, the limo and chauffeur are on hire for the week, do you two drive?'

    'No'

    'No'

    'Nor me, mum?'

    'yes'

'So just one, I have a full license just prefer not to drive, okay lets heave these shut, there's Annette with her gran, this house looks okay'

    'It's very okay'

'Good Rachel, it's a try out, first try it then buy later, more agents should do that, except with me I'm never satisfied in a house, ah I see my brother and a cousin, get the business out of the way then some tea and a sleep for yours truly'

'So no sleep from LA to here'

'No Rachel, he managed ten thousand words though'

'I did Fi-Fi, It's been to busy to relax and write recently, so the flood gates opened'

    'A profitable flight'

'Maybe it will be Rachel, looks to be a good story, this place is supposed to have an attic with atmosphere, lets see if it lives up to the agents description, I need a space like they described, not over Imaginative impressions'

'It has a combination lock on the door, so we've not seen it'

'No, it’s reserved for me Elisha, I've the combination. You two would have most likely commandeered it, hi Lydia, Bro and cousin so to business; tea, biscuits, a bill of sale and a bank transfer, it's been a complex break up of a company, they have oodles of legal jargon these lawyers who specialise more in bureaucracy than in the actual law needed for contracts'

    'What's the difference?'

'The longer the length of the contract, lease or deeds the more money they make Rachel, the red tape attached to our lives if in business, there's your two Ex's clubs to sort out as well, somehow they managed to get you on the leases'

    'Oh they're closed'

'Still need rent paying Rachel, opened or closed, the leases are short ones with five years to run on them'

'Cool some nightclubs to run, right up my street, I could  bring Away Away over'

'That maybe one of your better ideas Fi-Fi, that small dance & music band could do well here, you two dance I expect'

    'We do dad'

'Already a lovely line up then, all red heads, very photogenic I should think, well Fi-Fi is'

'Can I let them in on something'

    'What's that FiFi'?

    'The clubs'

    'Later

    Inside

'So what are we signing for on these deeds'

'Your child Rachel and yours Elisha, not forgetting Fi-fi's Amanda and Annette, misses a generation so saves doing it all twice'

'Ah buildings I get it, complex things to own, but It says here you're knocking it all down for re-development, so how do they finance that'

'I lend you them money through the bank I own so I get the profit on the interest, your custodial in charge till they're eighteen Rachel, it's a block of luxury apartments for rent as opposed to offices, a nightclub dance bar, a couple of restaurants, a four screen cinema and a theatre, no coffee bar as that's in the theatre along with some small retail outlets in the foyer'

    'Expensive?'

    'Approximately 125 million Rachel'

'Ah, okay initial on the green and sign on the red girls as your dad did before with his brother and cousin'

'I take it you can be the witness again Lydia'

'Oh yes, I'll do that again Rachel, exciting all of this, so these hundred odd apartments have a lots on there doorsteps to do, very attractive'

'After can I go and check out my sister's nightclubs'

'There's still the fine to pay, a 100k for each club I believe'

'Where do you pay that and collect the keys?'

'The city police station, they have the keys too'

    'They take Amex?'

'Most likely not Fi-Fi, so take my card, I'll load it up just before the transaction so the bank realises what's going on, they'll send me a code on my phone which I have to approve'

    'So I need your phone'

    'You do Fi-Fi'

'Oh it's good not have the police taking you everywhere as in LA'

    'Huh'

'I was sort of under house arrest mum till we left the US, after dad's stunts with the mercenary guys he employed, they insisted

'Ah, are they here now .......?'

‘Its Nathan now Lydia, no, but the much stretched British police force are always in need of some professional assistance'

'Ah, so if I see a tent appearing on the lawn and a couple of Hummers and a Chopper beside tent I'll know who it is'

'Yes, they're tax deductible as well, so a legit bunch'

'Ah, I was actually joking, they'll drive so they can take me shopping'

'They're super fit as well mum'

'That's a bonus for you Fi-Fi and your sisters, I'm over sixty, super fit hunks aren't of interest, mentioning interest how do you get away with having them, here and the US'

'I'm shooting a series so they are necessary extras'

'Cunning Nathan, so a legit expense, a long series no doubt, what's fake and real with you has always been an open book, sounds like British politics of recent times, maybe you should write a book for the government so there's various scenarios for difficult stages they reach when in power so they have options to hand'

'A dummies guide to ruling a country, could be good'

'Excellent black humour Nathan, an instant bestseller too, I think. It would be intriguing to see who buys it, I'm witnessing Rachel signatures now, should I read it for them before doing so'

'Complex words, boring, its been gone through thoroughly, so the Inland Revenue have zero to challenge under their present laws, the land registry is a formality'

'Okay Nathan, we should have one of these fancy pens for such occasions'

'Here you are, that's good for you'

'OH yes, just the job, I'd like one of these, not sure what for as everything is a pin number, you and Fi-Fi do autographs regularly so an extra buzz for the fan you using this posh pen, lovely'

'It's get used for song lyrics too, words flow from a pen, a keyboard is not so good'

'A pen to be treated with reverence as it has added to the load of loot you've made'

Chapter 3 Afternoon, the same day

'Just get through to the road ladies, the press will be here forever'

'Police outside too, I'm used to this, you're..........?'

'Terry, madame, I get to drive you lovely girls around, so that's a bonus for me, so Manchester?'

    'Yes'

    'Where's the boss'

    'Asleep'

'I expect so, we all have to, I took his luggage up, a very smart attic he has to chill in, I could do a lot of chilling in there'

'We've not been up yet, looks to be invitation only, his inner sanctum'

'Could be Miss Fi-fi, pleasant rooms up there, you'd be pestering to be up there'

'We would no doubt, we nag as well, I think'

'I think we do, mum does so we do as we think it's the way to get results'

'We need to watch that Elisha, dad always says mum was the queen of nags, so left, we must avoid being the same. I noticed a complete deafness to anything she was uttering to him'

'Straight through his head as if it was hollow, irrelevant to him'

'The only connection they've got is a biological one with us Elisha'

'Indeed Fi-fi, we originate from two tiny cells, no structural development, no conscious, no mind, just cells that grow, eventually we are influenced by what we're impressed by to follow on, this family business is a pile of rubbish at the end of the day'

'Dad was pretty impressive sorting us out though Rachel'

'But he's dad by design Elisha and a fortuitous one, if he was selling flowers in Mexico he would be of no relevance to us, we're all part of this capitalist set up'

'Conditioned to succeed, the chosen ones, the bright and beautiful girls who charm and make this world go round for the general populace, dad somewhere is the connection to all this'

    'More so for you Fifi'

'Yeah I was the oldest and choose to go with him at fifteen to the US, mum said no for you were too young I suppose, or just wanted to be the boss and put her foot down, didn't work, we'd be all screwed had he stayed in this stagnant pond of northern England where nothing much has changed since weaving looms arrived and changed income to industry from agriculture'

'Now the internet has arrived and made it more of a stagnant pond Fifi'

'It has Rachel, the most of Europe in fact and now these moribund governments are trying to work out how to make ends meet, it's not happening and soon the mafia moves in and takes over, a so called democracy ends up in a tyranny, 1940's Europe eventually arriving eighty years later, just postponed'

    'So you call online what'

To me its like the banks of wind in the willows Elisha, we all know it, the rats, the weasels , toad of toad hall, a good insight to what's to come in fairy tale form, the river being the confluence that everything streams down, like the internet streams now'

'I need to read it again Fifi, no doubt you have done so to Annette, we better tell this driver where we're going'

'I'm fine ladies, Manchester Police headquarters and now we've a police escort, cars behind and bikes in front, there making sure your being taken care of, they don't want your daddy usurping them like he did with the police
