Chapter One

  Setting somewhere in Beverley Hills, the Granny Shack

'Love wine tastings Jerry, but not that sure on this venue.'

'That relates to the age group for sure, Henry.'

'Call me Alex, this lot will most likely have maids who will regular use that specific vacuum cleaner.'

'Time for a smoke?'

'I think that's necessary to launch us into this establishment.'

'I'll roll up the necessary projectile then, one of those tingly ones.'

'Absolutely, we shall be totally tingly, make everybody and everything shine and we've not had a drink yet.'

'Otherwise we'd be falling through the door.'

'Rather than falling out of it later, let's get psyched up then.'

Ten minutes later

'Impressive, Jerry'

'This place is dilapidated on the outside but very reasonably decadent on the inside.'

'Deception, puts off flash guys and con men.'

'Encourage the artistic sort from its outside appearance, no suit required though these ladies are well smart.'

'We are almost making smart casual, not quite snappy, we're already being checked out by two ladies at the wine presentation yonder, look to be keen on men.'

'We're no great catch if they're on the look out to subsidy their elegant lifestyle they seem to be currently managing.'

'Financially sound widows, perhaps.'

'Certainly lacking husbands, nagged to death or married young to to older guys who were able to provide, which actually makes a lot of sense. A good age gap gives two perspectives on a union of marriage, different views with the age difference balancing out conversation and clash of styles.'

'Yeah, totally different points of views on most things leading to debate as opposed to arguments with the age difference.'

'A older person with wisdom gained from experience to a younger with a more impetuous character'

'Closer to a father daughter relationship which no doubt a female feels more familiar, relaxed and safer with, let's see if our assumptions are correct.'

'Prove our analysis of this crowd.' 

'Go for the red?'

'Always, it's a reputed vineyard that's being promoted, there's a selection of lesser known wines  alongside the main event.'

'The backdrop to fill up the table to impress the eyes and start your mouth watering.'

'Hi, you like to try a drop of this vintage, guys, along with some dark chocolate to make it more phenomenal than it already is.'

'A positive approach..........

'Valerie, I don't do many of these events.......

'Jerry and this is Alex, we often hang out together, not a couple though.'

'Excellent, you're new to the vicinity?'

'Not exactly, it's off our patch as you might say, we're red wine aficionados, or were judging by the crowd here it looks as though they're well used to the finer things in life.'

'A lot of the ladies do entertain and most cook voraciously hence the rather splendid buffet.'

'Smells heavenly with a nice bouquet, what do you think Alex.'

'I'm almost giddy with perfumes in here so time to drink a little Jerry. After having Covid, Delta and Omicron my sense of smell is extraordinary after it returned Valerie and whose your friend?'

'Margot .'

'You're the first live version I've met at a wine tasting, congratulations, obviously not yet bottled.'
