About the Author
To the Lord, for the fruit of the gift He has given me. Father, I can't truly thank you enough for revealing yourself to me. I live because of You and for You eternally! I exalt You and bless You with my life! We have it like that!
To my children—Rebe, Alysia, Sakina, Omar, and Marcus. You are the chosen generation. Don't allow the enemy to cheat you out of your inheritance. Walk in the vocation wherein you were called! I love you with all my heart.
To my family and friends who have supported me and prayed selflessly on my behalf. I love you and thank you so very much for your support, encouragement, and prayers.
To my parents, Otho and Rose Johnson. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for giving me the opportunity to live and learn. You have taught me so much about God, life, and ministry. Dad, I learned to be a visionary from you. I rise and call you both blessed!
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
—2 Corinthians 10:4
The Word of God will release power in your life, taking you from one dimension in God to another. It transforms you into the image of God. God is not fighting Satan. He just exists in power and authority, as should you and I. The enemy must submit to that authority.

Preface
My journey to learn and better understand God, the ministry, and my specific purpose began as a young child. I had just experienced the most shocking encounter with God. I quickly became intrigued with the whole concept of who He is, wondering why He would choose to talk to me. There are always many ways to accomplish a single task. I've learned that God has many ways to get our attention. The same can be said about our adversary, the devil, who has ways to hinder and sever that communication. They both do things differently to suit the needs of their target audience. For God, we are His people, and His love for us embraces every blessing known to man. I began to realize I no longer had to be limited by what I saw. The enemy came to me to inflict fear, yet God came in a loving, peaceful manner, allowing His angel to cover me at six years old to allow me a peaceful sleep. With God, the concept of choice began to emerge. If you learned about Him and experienced Him, you could choose to be with Him. Likewise, if you doubted Him, you were free—even encouraged—to follow your beliefs.
I tried a number of ways to convey to those who hear me minister, preach, or teach that God desires the best for us. There is a solution to this dilemma. Destroy the Enemy of Your Calling! is just one avenue in which I can express that my heart's desire is to see all of God's people free to excel, grow, and walk in their destinies. For those who have not yet come to know Him, knowledge about the hindrances are profoundly illustrated in this book. It is a great tool to bring deliverance to your life. You will see a difference when the truth is revealed in your life.
My prayer is that every reader will experience the greatness within themselves and deny the power of the enemy any room in their life! As I share my experiences and the Word of God within these pages, search your own heart and ask the Lord to work in you! This is where change begins. You remain in control until you release that control to the Father. I'm just a vessel who will lend a helping hand to get you started on your own journey. I sincerely hope you will be blessed by this book and allow the Father to hold a secure place in your heart.
Destroy the enemy of your calling!
Introduction: Every Call Has Its Beginning
Every Call Has Its Beginning
The ultimate purpose for this book is twofold. First, it is intended to bring every reader the weapons used by the enemy to steal, kill, and awake from their sleep, as Jonah did in the hull of the ship. He was running from the true assignment of God because he didn't approve of God's plan. This is the condition of the church today. From the beginning, it was not so. The church
has become infested with the spirit of error, in that it seeks out to establish its own righteousness. It has become so judgmental of its own members, all the while not realizing that it has missed the true assignment of God—that is, to reach the lost; win souls for the kingdom; spread the Word of God, the message of Jesus Christ, and exemplify the character of Christ to see their good works and glorify the Father in heaven. The second purpose for this book is to make the church aware of snares that have trapped us. We, the church, have been searching for and attacking an external enemy. Satan, as an extrinsic force, is working against us, that we fail to see the devil using trickery by blinding us to what is working within us.
My friends, it's time to wake up! We are up against ourselves, the true enemy. If we realize how we have been misguided about our own lives, we would have less time to judge others. We would have less political and personal gain rising up in our churches, and more souls would be greatly affected by our ministries. It is my desire and purpose to assist, speak, and build a ministry so the minds are awakened to truth, beginning with my own life. Thus, I am writing this book.
I began this book at a time where I didn't know which way was up. I was torn between so many directions in life. I knew I'd been called to kingdom building. I was divorced, had five children, and juggled a lot of responsibility. I was hurting and indecisive, and wondering where God was in all that I was going through. Yes, I was active in church. I knew the Word, yet I was caught in a place between believing and receiving the plan of God for my life. What was hindering me from just moving and walking in that blessed place where we find our niche in ministry and settle ourselves in our calling and purpose? I had the respect of many. The anointing that followed my ministry was great, yet I was not who God called me to be within myself. I had to deal with me. Oftentimes, we consider our enemy to be an outside source. In reality, it's within ourselves—our character and the uncommitted areas in our lives that we continue to harbor because of a lack of prayer and consecration to God or simply not being aware of what's working against us. Satan doesn't have to kill the church. We're doing it ourselves.
Have you had moments where you were aimlessly going through life with no knowledge of your purpose and no goals outside of corporate America? What about your spiritual condition? What about the desire God has for you to do and become great witnesses for Him? You must first realize that God has purpose for your life and wants to use you to build His kingdom here on earth, but you must deal with yourself and see Him in you. Every call has its beginning, and every beginning usually has its share of trials and challenges. We must recognize the snares that keep us blind and prevents us from being all God wants us to be. It's time to arise and adorn yourself with weapons to help you fight the good fight of faith.
Let's consider the famine in the city of Samaria, which under siege by their enemy. I want us to see the spiritual famine people are suffering from and the potential desperate conditions ahead that prevent and potentially destroy our destiny. Also, consider how the people are responding and see how God can use even those who have succumbed to enemy traps and ambushes to save us and our destiny. You can destroy the enemy of your calling by using the power tools God has given you. Use them with faith, authority, and wisdom. Believe and have no fear. This book will address a twofold message, weapons that work against us and weapons that are meant to work for us.
Let's examine 2 Kings 6:24–7:20. Samaria was under siege. There was great famine in the city to the point where they were eating their children, which became an only source of survival. Food prices soared out of reach. The people disputed among themselves and cried out to the government. The king had no
