Veneta T. Greene

Veneta Temple Greene earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Denver with a master’s degree in education with a cognate in curriculum and instruction, developing curriculum and teaching with a global perspective. She served more than thirty-five years as a professional educator in the public school system, teaching at-risk, college preparatory, honors, English as second language, and community college students. She has touched the lives of thousands of students during her tenure. Veneta was actively involved in Bible studies since early childhood, and she served as a youth leader in her church from her junior high to early college years in her hometown in Alabama. She met Pastor Richard H. Greene in the teacher’s lounge while teaching in Inglewood Unified School District. On the same day, in the faculty lunchroom, he was bold enough to ask, “Are you saved?” She stated she had been saved since she was a child. “How do you know you are saved?” he questioned. She explained all her church leadership roles and commitment at a young age. After school, he was the first to show her Acts 2:38. The instructions were clear; she understood the message and obeyed the Word of God without question. This led to her being empowered to overcome. Two years later, they were married. Forty years later, she is still working with her husband in ministry. She is retired from teaching and serves as pastor of Shield of Faith God Cares Ministry at Shield of Faith Christian Center in Pomona, California under senior pastors Apostle Henry B. Alexander and Dr. Marty Alexander.

Preface

This book is evidence of how God turned the author’s pains of life-threatening experiences into a powerful testimony of an overcomer. The author’s encounter with an attack of death changed her focus in life. This book is a call to you, the reader. God loves you. He wants to save you, and he will keep all of his promises to you. He is calling you to be empowered to overcome the troubles in the world through him and be ready for his second coming.

This book is a call to all overcomers to keep their faith and focus on Jesus, to submit to him daily, and to be battle-ready to engage victoriously in spiritual warfare in their apostolic war rooms as a unified force against the Antichrist and all demonic forces.

This book is a call for the unity of God’s church regardless of denominational, traditional, and racial barriers. God’s church is one. It is one Lord, one faith, one baptism (Eph. 4:4–6). Overcomers are called to know the vastness of Jesus’s power, and we are assured that we are joint heirs with Jesus in the most expansive evangelistic revival in human history. We are spreading the message of Jesus’s victory, grace, mercy, redemption, and salvation. He is the true source of answers to problems, victory in every battle, and provision for every need. Jesus is commander in chief in the end-time spiritual warfare. Overcomers must remain totally committed to him, moving by faith and in obedience to his instructions. He will empower the people of his church as spiritual stealth bombers and fighter vessels fueled by the Holy Spirit.

Empowered to Overcome serves as a guidebook for becoming empowered to overcome. It presents a chart that is organized for your study and will help you know Jesus in the vastness of his infinite power. You will see yourself as a joint heir with him and realize the power of his love, grace, and mercy. He allows an unworthy human of poverty to become a member of eternal royalty with rights, authority, and privileges with the King of kings, the great God Almighty! Chapter 1

God Loves You!

For God so loved the world, that He gave His

only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

—John 3:16

It is important for you to know and believe that God loves you. You do not earn his love. He gives his love freely to you. When you receive his love by faith, you can be empowered to overcome all tragic situations and battles you face in life. Accept it by faith.

God’s Love Is Extended to All Who Will Receive It

God loves you! Wherever and whoever you are, God loves you. You cannot buy his love. He gives it to you freely. He manifested himself in the flesh to pay the price for your salvation. He wants you to be saved, and whoever believes in Jesus should not be destroyed but have continuous life. That includes you. God invites you to accept the invitation to be empowered by him to overcome the pain, suffering, disappointments, strife, fear, terrorism, natural disasters, and strongholds of bondage to sin that the enemy of your soul uses to make you depressed and unhappy. God has made for you a clear pathway to an eternal life of happiness.

The zenith of love for God came in human flesh to redeem you through Jesus, the Lamb of God. It was the blood of Jesus that allowed you the opportunity to have the strongholds over your life destroyed. Those strongholds may include a variety of things such as drug addiction, unforgiveness, sexual sins, mental
