About this ebook

Office of the Midwife is an insightful book that is a quick read. The Bible speaks of the gifts that God gave to men and those gifts are apostle, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. These gifts are know as the 5-fold offices amongst the Christian community. This book explores the Office of the Midwife which is not one of the dominate offices that is prevalent in the Bible.  It ventures to explain the Midwife's funtions and their operation through the means of prayer. You will learn  that the Midwife is an earthly vessel facilitating a spiritual result;  acting as a go between used to guard the portal that is allowing the word of God to produce a manifested, physical result in the earth. This book is good for coaches, mentors and those that are looking to get their ideas from residing in their memory bank to now being a fully active entity in the earth. You can utilize the birthing plan and prayers included in this book to assist with the work of midwifery and birthing.

Office of the Midwife - Nikki Garcia

    INTRODUCTION

When the Lord spoke to me and told me to write this book, I was initially planning to name it The Midwife. However, as I began to read and study about the midwife, I came across a scripture that referred to the office of the midwife. I thought to myself, This is an office? This discovery was very intriguing to me because I am a dreamer, and I often wondered if there were other offices I might not be aware of in the Bible. I even pondered if being a dreamer was one of them. So, in light of this revelation, I wanted to introduce the Office of the Midwife to some. Our foundational scripture for the office of the midwife can be found in Exodus 1:16 in the KJV.

16 and he said: 'When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, ye shall look upon the birthstool: if it be a son, then ye shall kill him; but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.

In Hebrew, the word office of the midwife is bə·yal·leḏ·ḵen.

Usually, when the Bible references the concept of birthing or giving birth, it uses the Hebrew term yaled, which means to beget. However, this is the only instance in the Bible where the word bə·yal·leḏ·ḵen is used, and in its medical context, it refers to the role of a midwife.

According to Authorized Version 1611, the term office is defined as:

A particular duty, charge, or trust conferred by public authority and for a public purpose; an employment undertaken by commission or authority from the government or those who administer it. Thus, we speak of the office of secretary of state, of treasurer, of a judge, of a sheriff, of a justice of the peace, &c. Offices are civil, judicial, ministerial, executive, legislative, political, municipal, diplomatic, military, & ecclesiastical [1]

In the government of God, we are very familiar with the 5-fold officers, which are the apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, and teachers. However, we can see from our foundational scripture that other offices exist.

For this role to be considered an office, it must be conferred either politically or ministerially. Conferred means to grant or bestow (a title, degree, benefit, or right). In the case of the most common occurrence of midwives in the Bible, such as Suphrah and Puah, this role was conferred by the priest. However, it could also be politically conferred outside of
