    Bravo Solo!

Self-cooking and cooking, for one, have become the norm for people who have lived and survived the COVID-19 pandemic. It might also have become a routine for many singles who live alone. US Census data shows that in 2020, approximately 36.2 million people lived in single-person households in the United States. All over the world, the number of single-person families is increasing.

Single-person home means preparing nutritious and delicious meals is the sole responsibility of the person living alone. This book is for people looking to make such sattvic meals and offer it as naivedyam before consuming it. This book is also for others who are the family's only vegetarians or sattvic eaters. It is also for people living with roommates or dorms who want to eat well, light, and make quick sattvic meals.

In recent times, with the pandemic hurting everyone in one way or the other, working from home has become the new normal. However, working from home has brought on other challenges as well. Your home has become your office, mini-grocery store, and restaurant. The number of roles you are now playing as boss, housekeeper, and chef has also multiplied. That last part, food, bothers you the most.

It has been a trying time for staying healthy and eating well-prepared meals. It has been bad for businesses, with many restaurants closed or operating with limited capacity. Hanging out with friends or parties is a risky proposition. You staying alone or with a close family has been the only way to handle the situation.

And take-outs have not always been a good option. Even your favorite foods may not taste the same, especially if you have had COVID and lost the sense of smell. Everyone has been learning to cook with whatever is available locally. The ease of bringing stuff from different countries has been challenging and not the same as before. Staying vegetarian and sattvic might not have been possible for many people. Local food is the best choice for everyone.

For many people, the pandemic has resulted in a more profound reflection on life and adopting different priorities and values. Friendships are no longer about hanging out. It is also about those who help you pick yourself up with higher ideals, support positive reinforcement, and stay healthy. Mental and physical health have both been at peril and intertwined in a tight knot.

    Why Sattvic meals every day

Even if you are familiar with and convinced that a sattvic diet supports your expansion and conscious journey, please continue to read this section to get in-depth information on the sattvic diet. Sattvic meals are tasty due to the authentic flavor of the vegetables. The focus of sattvic food is to cook vegetables in a way that can retain their signature flavor, for every vegetable has its unique taste. Sattvic food is gently cooked with spices such as turmeric, cumin, ginger, and peppercorn.

The cooking method influences the nutritional quality of the food. Water cooking better preserves the nutritional quality of the food. Water cooking enhances some vegetables and preserves the antioxidant compounds and carotenoids- these supermolecules have healing properties[1]. For decades, scientists have steadily  accumulated substantial evidence supporting the protective role of fruits and vegetables. These properties are due to the supermolecules found in natural plant products.

For centuries, sattvic cooking practices have advocated gentle water-based cooking to ensure that the nutritional quality of the food is retained. In addition, the nutritional quality of food is enhanced by using select spices and specific cooking methods. Further sattvic food is quickly consumed, usually within 3 hours of cooking. Because we process sattvic foods gently to ensure the best nutritional potential of the food is
