The book is a sequel to Eat to Beat Disease, which discussed how the body resists disease through its five health defense systems. It also discusses how specific foods can support one, two, or even all five of these systems at once. Eat to Beat Disease is a book that explains how more than two hundred foods can activate defenses against diseases such as cancer, heart disease, dementia, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and more.
