    The Drawing

    One evening, I had a desire to try some artwork on my computer, a symbol of what I've learned, and how far I've come to know God's plan for me.

    The first thing that came to me was Christ's bright light and His open arms to us. I drew the light, which pours down at the center of the picture.

    Next I drew the different parts of the rainbow, which is such a symbol of God's promise to us. He tells us of His rainbow in Genesis at the end of the great flood. I drew a rainbow and made the colors gradient; that is, they change tones. We all know that the brightness of the rainbow changes as the sun becomes brighter. With this brightness, the colors become dimmer. So naturally, this rainbow will become dim because of the brightness of the light of Jesus.

    The next thing that I drew was the cross; Christ has risen and is no longer on it. It represents everlasting life to those who believe and to those who have faith, for Christ died for us to deliver us from sins so that we may live forever.

    I added background colors. First trying bright yellow and oranges, next pale blues and turquoise. Finally these, my favorite colors, blue and purple. They leave you with such a feeling of peace and comfort.

    I printed my picture and looked at it for quite a while. I saw things that I did not intentionally draw:

    The open Bible with the words of gold, God's words that He gives us, to know His truth.

    The empty tomb and the cross rising up from it. In this, I see the resurrected Christ (a friend pointed this out to me on another day).

    I see the water—the water that He walked on, the water that represents new life through baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the water that is there to quench our thirst, for it says in the New Testament, And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely (Revelation 22:17 KJV).

    The overall picture: In the Bible, we find all of these things because through His Word, the Bible, we can learn of His love for us, His promise, truth, and life everlasting. And all of this because of the sacrifices His Son made for us so that we can become His children.

    I wrote this poem, His Touch of Grace, to explain the greatness of God that has touched my life. For me, this drawing symbolizes the way in which God is leading me through His Word. He has given me a special gift. This gift is His plan for me to share this, His wonderful Word, with you through my drawings, my poems, and my story.

    His Touch of Grace

    His Touch of Grace to help you feel

    Christ's love for us, His light to heal

    Our sorrows, pains, our broken hearts

    Just turn to Him, evil departs.

    His Touch of Grace, so soft and warm,

    He longs for us through darkest storm.

    He left this world for a better place

    That we may know His Touch of Grace.

    The water's there to quench your thirst,

    And as we ask, Christ will disperse

    His peace, His love, His promise too;

    His Touch of Grace, so bold, so true

    So live His Word and hear His voice.

    An empty tomb, Christ's only choice.

    Let's follow Him and keep His pace,

    We'll then know His Touch of Grace.

    His Touch for me, His Touch for you;

    And when I ask, I know it's true:

    He died for us, saved us from sins;

    His Touch of Grace is there to cleanse.
