    A Special Thank You

To my God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

Jesus—for the cross. My sin debt has been paid in full. I am forgiven. I look forward to seeing You face-to-face when I get home to heaven.

Holy Spirit—You are my Best Friend. You keep me mindful of God’s Word and You comfort me in every battle.

For the gift of faith to believe in Jesus. Thank You, Heavenly Father, for growing my faith over these years.

For Your grace that is sufficient for this day.

For Your mercy, loving-kindness, and compassion that endures forever.

For Your love that is huge. It never will end.

For every promise that comes with a Yes and Amen!

For cares, burdens, and battles that You want to take from me and provide a blessing on the other side of them.

For Your protective hand around me.

For Your provision—You meet all my needs, give me the opportunity to help others, and provide me an opportunity to sow into ministry.

For my family—there are many Christian believers who have chosen to serve You. They have helped me grow.

For many Christian believers—the seeds sown over the Word and walking it out are countless blessings.

For the Bibles I have in print.

For inspiration and stirring the spirit within me.

For every victory and blessing throughout my days.

For technology—where I can look up scripture and do countless activities quicker.

For Christian radio and television—it has always been a blessing to tune in to praise music, preaching, and teaching.

For the heavenly mansion You have made for me. I will see it when I finish the walk down here.

I praise You! I adore You! I love You!

    In Appreciation

God graces our path with individuals who help us grow in Him. Over the past few years, I had the privilege and blessing to teach with Kelvin Hughley. During class time, we endeavored to let the Holy Spirit lead our class as we studied scripture and its application in life. We discussed the mindset of seeking God daily, growing in Christ, and sharing Jesus with those around us. We have learned that maturing in Christ is a process that doesn’t happen overnight. Developing a routine is a step-by-step, day-by-day process. Growing with the Lord can be so rewarding. We were thankful to the Lord for class time and growing us personally. The content of this book has Kelvin’s spirit and teaching influence echoing thru it. Therefore, the reader may see we or our flowing thru it on occasion. I am grateful to the Lord for this partnership. We would jointly say, To God be the glory.

God graces us with family, friends, and special acquaintances thru our lives. Growing up in a Christian home is a huge blessing. To our parents who made sure our Bibles were used and that we attended church, Sunday school, Bible class, and youth group, thank you for starting the roots of our walk with the Lord. To those pastors, teachers, friends, coworkers, and class members that we learned that our walk should match our talk, thank you for growing with us. And, to those who looked like a trial during our life, we thank you as you may have been a reason we kept going back to the Lord in prayer, expecting wisdom, or expecting the Lord to work in a situation. For the places we have been and where we are going to, God still gets all the glory! He works everything out for the believers’ good, and His glory. Yes and amen!

    Greetings!

The only place to start an endeavor is to give God all the praise and glory. It is amazing to see what God can do when we say yes to Him. I recently had a help desk ticket put in on a computer software issue. The lady who responded to me had a great footer on her email. Seems appropriate to share as we’ll be talking about walking with the Lord.

When God pushes you to the edge, trust only Him. He will either catch you or teach you how to fly.

It is so encouraging to get God’s little reminders along the way that He is in control. God loves us dearly, and He has a great plan for our life. It just takes a little bit of trust, or in Christian words faith, to start that journey. Prayerfully, this study guide helps new believers as they start their walk with God.

²⁸And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to
