Table of Contents
We have people near and dear to us that we want to see in heaven. Our lifestyle may be the tool that God uses to share the gospel. This study guide first includes 13 topics specifically tied to a Christians’ life. Following those individual sessions, the study guide includes the ABC’s of Walking the Talk
. This segment has scripture references or ideas of how to express the Jesus in us each day. Rather than spend much time on personal stories, the study guide purposely uses the Word. As you study individually or within a group, the Holy Spirit can be your guide on how to apply the Word to your life. Believers joining together provides encouragement thru the trials of life as well as rejoicing over the success stories that make us smile. May this be a blessing to all who study and grow with the Lord.
Dedicated Service
12 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship. ² And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. Romans 12:1-2 (AMP)
Team Jesus
We win! On this team, we are guaranteed to win! Has that ever happened on any other team you’ve played on?
God is Great! He loved everyone so much that He’s made a way for each of us to be saved. It doesn’t matter what kind of past you have, where you live, or your age. God loves you so much! How do we know?
¹⁶ For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. ¹⁷ For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17 (NKJV)
Jesus did the hard part. He left the beauty of heaven. He walked this earth with people every day experiencing life with them. He later died, was buried, and rose on the third day winning us the victory. All we have to do is believe!
⁹ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9 (NKJV)
As a believer, we are on Team Jesus! Here’s some attributes of this great team:
This team has the greatest coach – Jesus! He’s got us covered. He will pick us up when we fall. His grace, mercy, and love will never run out. He is our strength thru life’s ups and downs. He is our protection and provision. He can make a way when we don’t see where to turn. He is our All!
There is always room for another player. Let’s see who we can bring along with us.
Our Bible is the playbook for life. It works! (Isaiah 55:11)
The armor of God is our uniform. (Ephesians 6:10-18)
